For the record, he was controlling and manipulative, which is why I’m getting divorced. I’ve been trying to process everything in therapy. Perhaps it wasn’t a good idea, but I started watching the show You because it was recommended to me. Joe reminds me so much of my ex. It’s uncanny. I know it’s just a show, but it’s pretty terrifying.
He love bombed me from the start, put me on a pedestal, tried to overprotect me and isolate me from the world, believed he knew what was best for me, and had an “us vs. the world” mentality. I used to think it was romantic until I started to see how he was gaslighting and manipulating me (these realizations were long before I watched the show). I changed my personality a lot because of the positive reinforcement I received from him, but I wasn’t true to myself at all. If I did anything he felt a was “out of character” (it could be something as simple as going to the mall one day) he’d make feel incredibly guilty, as if he was a wounded puppy and I stabbed him in the back.
He used to watch a lot of gory LiveLeak videos and YouTube crime channels. I never really understood, but I did know other people who’ve watched LiveLeak videos, so I didn’t really think too hard about it. But thinking back on things, idk… 😳 He does love animals quite a bit, so I never thought he’d be capable of hurting anyone. But he is a super negative and depressed person a lot of the time. He wanted to have kids, but I have had a fear of dying in childbirth. His response was always “sometimes bad things just happen,” and he’d “have no problem taking care of the baby as a single parent.” It wasn’t very reassuring…kind of made me feel like it didn’t matter what happened to me, as long as he got a kid out of it.
In addition, I know his dad is misogynistic and has hit his mother at least once (who knows the full story). My ex said it “only happened once,” and it made him lose respect for his dad. But the more I think about it, the more I wonder about it.
His family is from a more traditional, conservative country, and he had some family members that beat up and hospitalized someone because one guy’s wife was having an affair with that person. My ex wasn’t really phased by it and seemed to act like it was justified.
Anyway, I have been feeling unsettled by all this. My ex had never physically hurt me, and some of these things in isolation may not mean anything…but looking at the full picture…? I don’t really know what to feel…

Like any good drug it’s never as good as the first time. My first experience was really awesome. I was able to invite my father and my best friend to go. My best friend and I at the time we’re pretty heavy into Aces High II and we were pretty good at dogfighting.
We arrived at the Air Force Base and got checked in through security. We waited for a few minutes for our instructor to arrive, my friend Tom. A former F-15E pilot and now retired and working in the simulator. I had previously met his wife working on a film set. And once I found out he was a fighter pilot I just could not stop talking to him, I was in 100% fan boy mode. The next day his wife asked me if I would like to go sometime and fly the simulators, so fast forward a few weeks and here we are waiting for Tom. We followed him into the Air Force Base, we gave up all our electronics and phones and any sort of recording device. Tom led us into a classroom where they instruct real fighter pilots. It was so awesome sitting there looking at the chalkboard, and the dry erase board and the models that they use to do their dogfight scenarios. It was just like out of a scene from a movie. Tom gave us about a 45 minute walk-through on how to use the radar system basics, how to get the guns on, and just a basic rundown of the cockpit. We were then led into the simulator bay. Tom got us situated in each of our cockpits and at that time there was a clamshell tight screen close down behind you. It was the actual cockpit of an F15. It was stationary and the clamshell close down around you. We had a great time me and my friend were dogfighting and trying to do air to air refueling and all the other stuff. My dad had a funny moment. He had a lot of time in civil aviation. So he was kind of flying the instruments and not really looking up. He took off out of Panama City. And by the time he looked up and kinda got situated he was over Pensacola doing 550mph. The second time I went, Tom invited me and it was just me and Tom. And that was an awesome time too. We did some great dog fighting. He shot me down after toying with me for a little bit. This third time was fun too but there was no longer a clamshell. They had replaced it was just a bunch of LED screens. And there was not a full 360 view like there was the previous two times, it really gave up situational awareness as you can imagine. So we did some basic scenarios and did some canyon runs and stuff like that. I did some landings and then we did some night landings. I was really missing the clamshell. The pilot that I was flying with was named Buck Rogers, no lie. A really intense, great guy. I have been talking shit a little bit and wanted him to really give me a good fight, and boy did he ever. He shot me down almost immediately. We are flying next to each other, broke away at 45° from each other, and then at a certain point called the fight on. Without having the LEDs behind me or the clamshell, I really had very little situational awareness behind me. He shot me down within a matter of 15 to 30 seconds. That being said he did give me several compliments on my flying and told me not to feel bad. He said “you only have a little bit of time and I have over 4000 hours!” lol
Some takeaways from the event. The graphics that they use there are just laughable. They are beyond terrible and they’re like Minecraft level graphics. If you have been flying in DCS, or Ace high, or goddamn nearly anything you have better graphics than the United States Air Force. I am sure other bases probably have like the bad ass stuff, but not at my base. For fucks sake I did not even have sound. And no tracers, no hit indicators or anything like that to let you know you’re hitting someone. They had the shields turned on so no damage effects. You would pull the trigger and basically not even know if anything coming out. I asked the instructor about this. Why no tracers or anything like that?? He told me that in real life you don’t see any tracers. So that being said I felt pretty spoiled by DCS. He did tell me some cool things about the gun though. That it is a 30 mm Gatling gun. Basically like the same thing in the A10. And that the gun fires in a spiral of 8° for every 1000 feet or something like that. He went on to mention that the thing just destroys planes. There is no scenario where the plane goes limping away with a few holes in its wings or something like that. He said if you get hit by this thing you’re done. Overall, and the cool thing about going there is just the experience and the exclusivity of being able to do it. And I will probably never get to do it again. Nor will anyone else that is not a pilot in the Air Force. They are moving that facility to a more secure part of the base where civilians are not allowed. Maybe they will make changes in the future but for right now that’s the way it’s going to be. He did mention that in the new facility they’re going to have better graphics but I would love to know how they compare to what we fly in DCS.
Anyways that’s my write up I hope I did not bore you.

First of all, I loved the episode, I think it was a great finale. I see the purpose for the begining with all the flashbacks as Baron in their perspectives, to show he is connected to them, and to show other events. Assuming all those instances were real, which it seems to be, aside from the one with Cyrus as Barron is as himself in that scene, and not anyone else, but the others seem to have been real past events. Suggesting Everetts parents had him sedated and drugged, or whatever was going on there, meaning something big probably did happen before that have his parents so worried now. Baron is also protective of Harlan and Luna as we can see by the scene with Cyrus, and how he reacted to Austin. I suspect that will be a major source of conflict for them as Baron tries to form a relationship with Harlan, and he will likely be apprehensive. Now to them possibly turning human again. Blake wants to change back, and Everett doesnt, and that makes character sense, but also it appears Blake's attraction to Everett is no more, which leads me to believe a theory that it is because of the wolf connection between them. That actually makes me like them more, because it felt fake, and now there's evidence to support that it's fake, but it can develop into a real relationship, or it will fail quickly, either way I'm good. Everett also seemed very off in this episode, and I think dark Everett might be a thing that will develop Everett into a possible antagonist in the second and if we're lucky third season
Next is Harlan's conversation with Cyrus. I ship them even more now. I really think that the arson act for Cyrus was a one time thing, but it could cause trouble for them in the future. Honestly I'm excited to see their relationship develop, and how Harlan is seemingly ready to do anything to free Cyrus.
Also, in the car when listening to the tape it appears there is a change in Harlan, suggesting an improving relationship with Garrett
Them all getting separated. Ramsey was there when Blake got removed from her dad's custody, and separated from Danny. This leads me to believe she had a hand in it. Also when Everett was comitted, his dad said the arson investigator, Ramsey, told them about bringing in Baron, meaning she definitely set Everett up. And Luna was self isolating so she didn't have a hand in that, but she could've contributed to Harlan's arrest, but I don't think she would do that to her blood. I think it was to ensure she could save Baron without interference, and maybe get Garrett alone.
The rest that happened is very clear and concise, and great writing, but some questions arrive at the very end. Everyone has their own power, how many are there, and the more wolves there are, which it appears is Ramsey's plan, do powers start to duplicate? And what power might Garrett have if they turn him. I'm starting to like the tension and chemistry between Garrett and Ramsey.
I think this all sets up for a great season 2. I think Garrett will be turned, and Luna and Harlan might try to change him back as I don't think he wants him to become a wolf, it was more teen angst. When Garrett says they need malcom alive, I don't know exactly what he meant, but I have a feeling they will frame him for the arson and murders. Now for the first episode or two, Harlan and Cyrus will remain in jail, and honestly I hope they're cell mates in juvie, and get some more bonding before they get free. I think that Luna and Baron mostly will help try to clear their name, while Garrett will help Ramsey frame Malcom. Since Harlan said he will do whatever to get Cyrus out, it is possible he will suggest confessing to get Cyrus off, but Cyrus won't let him, and he wouldn't go through with it anyway. My guess is that Ramsey and Garrett will only get Harlan freed, but he will refuse until they free both him and Cyrus. I think Luna will have a very strained relationship with Everett and especially Blake for a long time, but will grow close to Baron, and even more dependent on Harlan. Unfortunately she will probably still pursue Austin after initial reservations about it. And Blake will struggle with finding a way to get Danny back, maybe trying to get Luna's help, but Luna might not help, or will do so reluctantly. It will eventually result in Blake giving into Ramsey so she can get her brother back. I don't think they will leave Everett in the psych ward, but story and character wise, there is so much going on, there is no immediate motivation to get him out. I think it could go one of two ways. We see him struggle inside and try to break out, or stay in the full 72 hours, but it pushes him further into dark territory and makes him more jaded when he is released. Finally, I think Malcom will end up in jail for the arson and murders, and it is possible despite their strained relationship that he will tell Cody everything, and use him to help get rid of the wolves, and free him. Since the fan reception to Cody was very positive, I think we will see more of him, and in a more meaningful capacity. We could also see more Prisha, Cyrus, and Austin. Austin will probably end up against the pack, and Cyrus will find out which will cause tension in his relationship with Harlan, before accepting him. More tension will later be caused by them finding out Ramsey killed his dad, and it could lead to a possible breakup, or further division between Harlan and Ramsey. Also there will definitely be a power struggle between the three guys, which may result in an Alpha hierarchy, or some compromised cooperation, but they will definitely struggle for power, and Cyrus could have a lot to do with them fighting for Harlan's loyalty. Luna will support Harlan, but Baron will continue to see him as a threat. I think Ramsey will soften up to the relationship as long as Cyrus isn't a physical threat, but will not be kind to Austin. Not sure exactly what a second season would revolve around, but I hope we get one, and I'm excited to find out.
Also I think Austin will eventually die, possibly in season 2, I think Cody will eventually become a wolf either by the pack, or a possible rival pack. And I think Cyrus will remain a human ally for the forseeable future. As for the caller my theory is that it is their Dad, and he could come back causing even more chaos
