What You Get

Phase 0) Digital Economics 101

The Digital Economics 101 module will open 1 week prior to the cohort start date. This is an onboarding module that will get you up to speed so we can get straight into the material. This will be required to finish before the start date.

  • Gain a deep understanding of all of the pieces in the digital economy.
  • Learn about the future of media and code — the front-end and backend of the internet — so you can focus your efforts.
  • Understand digital leverage, distribution, no-code tools, and digital assets so you can take part in the mental & financial wealth transfer.

Phase 1) Creating A Meaningful Niche

Every day I hear people going on and on about trying to find their niche.I also hear people talking about how they don’t know how to combine what they love talking about with what will sell. You already have the answer. You just don’t have the clarity.

  • Develop a long-term strategy to create your own niche — meaning you don’t have to worry about your “competition” playing status games.
  • Discover your life’s work, curiosities, and obsessions. I see too many people that are uncertain about this for years.
  • Cultivate and turn your vision, goals, and values into a brand that attracts an audience you love interacting with (and that will buy from you, and only you).

Phase 2) Content Strategy

There is one thing that separates those who make it in the digital economy and those who don’t.It’s the quality, articulation, and perceived originality of their content. The content you post has to make sense to the people you attract.Everyone has a different voice and tone that they resonate with. That they are congruent with and trust. It has to change their thought patterns or behavior — that’s what makes you memorable. That’s what separates you from the sea of people posting surface-level copy-cat style posts.Example and putting my money where my mouth is:

  • Become an expert-level speaker or writer on the topics you care about.
  • Never run out of content ideas for your posts or promotions (without using content templates — that’s how you stay a commodity).
  • Create posts, blogs, tweets, images, and videos that resonate with other’s on a deep level. People will actually ask you how you got so good at what you do.
  • Separate yourself from the ocean of B-tier creators that struggle to sell their products, services, andhave their ideas stick in the head of their audience.
  • Implement our Epistemic Research Method — which is just a fancy way of saying scientific research method… but it’s for researching your mind to craft brilliant content and product ideas.

Phase 3) Crafting Your Offer

Most people are sitting on a goldmine of skills, experience, and knowledge (that they can use to help people 1-2 steps behind them). That is what people pay for.Considering 95% of the market are beginners… if you are good at something, you can help them get to your level (no matter how “basic” you think the information is).Do you not watch basic content all day anyway? People don’t want new information, they want to be reminded of what works.

  • Use our Minimum Viable Offer strategy to start monetizing immediately (and have something to improve over time, rather than procrastinating until it’s perfect).
  • Have a strategy for reducing the time you spend working over time (as you build leverage and improve your offer).
  • Know how to create your own customers from the audience you are building, instead of “finding” the right customer for your offer.
  • Take the guesswork out of building coaching, consulting, or digital product offers.

Phase 4) Marketing Strategy

You aren’t making money because you aren’t promoting yourself or your offer. That is literally the only way to make money. Have something desirable and consistently put it in front of peoples’ faces. In Phase 4, I will show you how to systemize, automate, and be consistent with simple promotions. You will be able to make money without having the chance of forgetting to do it (or letting fear of failure get in the way).

  • Learn to sell on social media, in your writing, and across different platforms.
  • Have consistent sales coming in while focusing on your meaningful message (no need to sound salesy all the time).
  • Learn advanced automation strategies that you can implement at your own pace, especially once you validate your offer.

Bonus) The Creator Command Center

The Creator Command Center is a Notion template that houses all of the systems. This is how you will manage your brand, content, offer creation, marketing strategy, and systemized promotions for consistent sales.

Bonus) Live Product Build & Launch

In the first Digital Economics Cohort, I built out my course The 2 Hour Writer.I have videos showing how I build it with the strategies in phase 3 and 4.There is a bonus module that shows how I had an $85,000 launch that resulted in my first $100K month.I did this to prove the strategies inside Digital Economics work if you stick to the plan. And, this past Black Friday, I blew my that monthly high out of the water in 4 days. That’s the power of these strategies if you stay consistent with your life’s work.

2023.03.21 08:34 Captainmanic @BingAI: "Write a story of how, between Artemis 1 and the year 2122, NASA transforms the Moon into a giant orbiting spaceship factory serving the purpose of colonizing humanity across the entire universe."

Here is a possible story:

NASA's Artemis program began in 2019 with the goal of sending the first woman and the first person of color to the moon by 2024. The program was named after the Greek goddess of the moon and twin sister of Apollo, who was the namesake of NASA's first lunar missions in the 1960s and 1970s.

The program consisted of several phases, each involving robotic and human missions to explore different aspects of the moon. The first phase, Artemis I, was an uncrewed test flight of the Orion spacecraft and the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket that launched in November 2023 and orbited the moon for three weeks. The second phase, Artemis II, was a crewed mission that flew around the moon in 2024. The third phase, Artemis III, was a historic mission that landed two astronauts near the lunar south pole in 2025.

The fourth phase, Artemis IV, marked the beginning of a new era of lunar exploration. It was a long-duration mission that established an outpost on the surface called Artemis Base Camp. The base camp served as a hub for scientific research, resource utilization and technology demonstration. It also hosted a lunar rover called VIPER that searched for water ice in permanently shadowed regions.

The fifth phase, Artemis V, expanded the scope of lunar exploration by building a small space station in orbit around the moon called Gateway. Gateway provided a staging point for missions to other destinations on and around
the

moon

,

such as

craters

,

mountains

,

lava tubes

and

the far side

.

It also supported experiments and observations in cislunar space.

The sixth phase, Artemis VI, transformed the moon into a giant orbiting spaceship factory serving the purpose of colonizing humanity across
the entire universe

.

It did so by using

the abundant resources on
the lunar surface

,

such as

regolith

,

metals

,

helium-3

and

water ice

to manufacture

components

for

interstellar spacecraft

that could travel faster than light.

It also used

the low gravity and vacuum environment

of

the moon

to assemble

and launch

these spacecraft without much resistance or fuel consumption.

By 2122,

NASA had successfully built and launched hundreds of interstellar spacecraft from
the moon

,

each carrying thousands of humans and robots to explore
and settle new worlds beyond our solar system.

The interstellar spacecraft were equipped with advanced technologies such as warp drives,
artificial intelligence,
nanotechnology,
biotechnology,
quantum communication
and terraforming devices.

They were also guided by
a common vision
of
peaceful coexistence
and
scientific discovery
among
all forms of life
in
the universe.

2023.03.21 08:28 TypicalAd8054 Are you looking for best Otdr Fiber Tester Price Dubai?

The Convergence Tech-An Optical Time Domain Reflect meter (OTDR) is a device that tests the
integrity of a fiber cable and is used for the building, certifying, maintaining, and
troubleshooting fiber optic systems. First place one of the markers or cursors (usually called 1
or A on your OTDR) just before the reflectance peak. Next, place the second marker (referred to
as 2 or B on your OTDR) just after the reflectance peak. Sumitomo Splicing Machine Dubai.
The OTDR will calculate the loss between the two markers. An OTDR sends a pulse of light
based on to the wavelength(s) used for transmission when the fiber link is operational. The
typical wavelengths are 850 nm and 1300 nm for multimode fiber and 1310 nm, 1550 nm and
1625 nm for single-mode fiber.
There are several designs in use for mechanical splicing, varying based on the method of fiber
alignment; four common methods, according to the Fiber Optic Association, are the capillary
tube, V-groove, elastomeric, and rotary splice. 6 motor splicer is composed by 2 driving motors,
2 aligning motors and 2 focusing motors, the extra 2 focusing motors are installed on the
optical lens, the motors will change the distance between the fiber and lens to make different
image focusing. Basic steps to fusion splicing with a splicing machine.
 Put on the fusion splice protection sleeve.
 Strip the fiber.
 Cleave the fiber.
 Put the fibers into the fiber holders in the fusion splicer.
 Heat shrinks the protection sleeve to protect the splicing joint.
Convergence Tech incorporated in the year 2020, initially catering needs of copper cable

2023.03.21 08:02 Eager_Question Love Languages (1)

Memory transcription subject: Andes Savulescu-Ruiz, UN universal translator technician.
Date [standardized human time]: December 2, 2136
There were a vanishingly small amount of translator technicians among the human population.
Partially, that was because they are really well-designed, with a thousand different redundancies and failsafes, all enabled through some astonishingly nifty nanite programming. This meant that they very rarely "broke". I have no idea how they managed such adaptive architecture with AI so rudimentary it may as well have come out of the 20th century. But they did. Probably at least a dozen species working together. Translators: biotech at its finest.
Partially, that was because humans had only known these things existed for six months. So, not a lot of engineering/linguistic double-majors with a background in neuroscience to pick from for the job.
Partially it was because the job of "translator technician" involved being the world's most overqualified traumatic brain injury rehab assistant. I was originally just a researcher, until we needed to interrogate injured arxur. Those big psycho-crocs can take an impressive amount of punishment and remail coherent. Since the talking teddy bears could barely survive 5 minutes alone with them, I got dragged out of xenoneurolinguistic heaven, and into (ugh) the field.
"These creatures are clearly beneath you, human," Shathel said one evening, and there were no error messages! Massive progress from the previous two days. "Why do you indulge them so?"
The Zurulian doctor I was working with glared at him from behind a reinforced window in the other room.
"They're cute," I said, "Please count backwards from ten."
"Ten. Ninety. Eighty. Seventy..."
"Fuck. Give me a moment. Count up to ten?"
"One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six. Seven. Eight. Nine. Ten."
"Alright. I think it's good now. Backwards, again?"
"Ten. Nine. Eight..."
Riveting, right? Totally worth a decade of university.
Shathel was fun. Top notch PoW, especially among the Arxur. He wasn't a cuddly teddy bear, but he had his charms.
"I still do not understand the comprehensive nature of this treatment," he said, "you should have left me to die and interrogated my second."
"I mean, we can interrogate your second without leaving you to die," I said, "in fact, we have. But you know more, presumably. Especially since that injury didn't damage your weird tentacley lizard hippocampus."
"I have recovered some vision on my left eye."
"Good. It means the stem cells from your tail are working."
"Are you quite certain you're not a doctor?"
"I dropped out of med school when I realized rotations would drive me insane. The American dollar is not worth that much. Transferred to McGill for research instead."
"...Circles?"
"Close. Tell me about how shifts are organized in an Arxur ship."
He looked at me with suspicion.
"Or not, tell me how fake shifts are organized. I'm not military intel, I just need to know you're talking about time in a periodic fashion while I check this."
He sighed and began explaining. It was relatively trivial to modify the translators to spit out conversions (from "moon cycles" to 2.7 Earth months and so on, for example). It blows my mind that it's not standard procedure and the average human has to personally translate "paw" and "claw" into hours but then again, I was one of ten human translator techs, so that answers that enigma.
"Alright, let's try this again. I dropped out of medical school when I realized rotations would drive me insane."
He looked taken a back and stared at me.
"...You truly are persistence predators."
"Guess so. Not me though, I'm done with the grind."
"Is that why you are here?"
"...Kinda yeah."
He was sent off to be interrogated by Meier or whoever, and I was given a few weeks to catch up grad work. I had to stay on the space station, but they mostly left me alone.
Two days after I finished my thesis and sent it to my supervisor, my university was blown up.
In between the radiation, the battle wounds, and the accidents caused by the chaos, I was swamped for weeks. The number of translator techs quadrupled thanks to the Zurulians and still I was swamped. Not to mention sick of the fucking federation and their genocidal bullshit. The loss was incalculable. Montreal was one of the most delightful cities in the world. The history that was lost. The art. The science. The people.
It was best not to think about it.
I was one of the lucky ones. Regina came out pretty unscathed, so most of my friends and family back home were fine. But the university was gone, and the octogenarians that tended to staff it had collectively decided they were too old for alien war shenanigans and retired.
I never thought I'd have an easier time hanging out with baby-eating lizard Nazis than stuffed animals with anxiety, but there I was: Having lunch with the Arxur helpers, on the grounds that the Zurulians and the Venlil were fucking exhausting to talk to.
"You humans are simply delightful," said Asleth. "Such weak frames, and yet you do more with them than many a mighty Arxur."
"We try," I said with a smile, "what do you think of the steak, eh?"
"It's quite good," she said, "very bloody. You lied to us, it seems. I have seen humans eat it like this also."
"Some humans will eat meat raw."
"Oh good. Those canines are not just for show, then."
We exchanged contact information, and would have calls once in a while, when they wanted to complain or ask about human customs. It was good.
When I found out about the cattle exchange, I knew. I knew I had the most experience with traumatic brain injuries' effects on the translators, I knew I had "no excuse" with my whole department turned to ash. I knew I turned things in on time, and was reliable, and they liked that.
I knew it was my name on that fucking roster. I knew when the email came from one of those stupid @ interstellar-relations.un.gov accounts.
Dear Andes Savulescu-Ruiz,
We would like to inform you that you have been selected to spearhead the human translator implantation and evaluation initiative in the currently-under-construction facility for rescued Venlil. Attached are the details of the position, as well as the relocation requirements.
Should you choose to accept this opportunity, your compensation...
Sometimes, I love the UN. But holy shit, sometimes I hate the UN.
So over the next week(!!!) I had to pack up all of my shit to go live in an alien planet. The good news was that gravity is meaningfully bigger there, which is to say, it made it easy to lose weight and get ripped. The bad news is the everything else.
No day-night cycle. No "night life". No quiet hours of the night. No early morning walks to watch the sun rise. I didn't even particularly liked those things until I couldn't have them anymore. The same endless sun hanging in the sky at the same height kept freaking me out. It was like time had stopped, and nobody noticed, so life just kept going.
Creepy alien gym planet bullshit.
I went to the university. The linguistics department at the university was much better equipped to handle the interdisciplinary nature of translator technical training (obviously) so I did a 3-week intensive (if you can call it that, the study blocks were 3 hours tops) with a whole cohort to top up my skills.
On the third week, my shifts started. They were mostly setting up the lab while the housing construction finished up. But it meant I had to travel home-to-work, work-to-uni, and uni-to-home every day/wake-sleep cycle. The extra 30% of public transit travel time was starting to grate on my nerves. Twitchy little venlil bastards. I'm sure the resting fuck-you face didn't help, but the population made it clear Tarva wasn't all that beloved around these parts. And the "oh no, predator" bullshit stopped being pitiful and started being annoying very very fast.
Eventually, the last week ended, and I was just heading to work, which was awesome because once the path was done, I could bike there directly through the back, and didn't need to take transit.
The refugees trickled in from the hospital at first, and then it became a steady stream. This particular facility was meant primarily for those raised in captivity, on the grounds that they were the ones who needed translators installed. I did my best to stay in my office, so I wouldn't have to wear the stupid headgear. If they didn't want a human interacting with these people why did they hire me?
The Yotul was cool. His name was Larzo He was vicious at chess. The more time I spent with him, the more it seemed like the Yotul were the only sane people in the galaxy.
"Ha! Finally!" he shouted when he finished his mate. I'd been on the defensive most of the lunch hour. My poor queen had spent half the game on the run from his bishop and knight.
"Yeah, yeah, you got me. Little demon quoka," I muttered.
"I have conquered the great fearsome predator! Perhaps you need more muscles here," he said, tapping his head. I laughed.
"Perhaps indeed. How's the gene sequencing going?"
"We've identified several clusters. We're trying to figure out what to do about them. Whether they have an instinct against incest and should be kept together, or whether to segregate them by gamete, or..."
Larzo shrugged.
"I'd assume put them all in reproductively incompatible groups with their closest kin, and then put those groups close enough they can talk to their brothers and sisters, but separate enough you can keep an eye on something like that."
"That's the current plan. How are the implants?"
I groaned.
"They're honestly the easiest part. The problem is developmental. They're... Well, they're fucked up. No kid should have to go through that. Their brain scans remind me of warzones. I have hope for the younger ones, but... Well, I guess the long and short of it is that I'm pretty sure a lot of them are not leaving this place anytime soon. "
"Does it give you pause? About the Arxur?"
I paused at that. Larzo did not pull his punches. I liked that about him.
"I mean, I think I know a Nazi croc when I see one, pal," I said, leaning back. "And maybe it makes me want to puke a little more now, to see the consequences. But I kinda knew what they were going in."
He examined me with his big round adorable eyes.
"I don't understand how you can stand them," he said eventually.
"At this point, Larzo, neither do I."
His alarm beeped. "I should go. Talk to you later, Andes. We'll play Upper Salwick next time. You can't possibly lose."
"I'll hold you to that!" I called after him. Then I slumped and went back to reading scans. Half the kids didn't even have names. The one I was currently looking at seemed healthy enough, given the baseline, and all she had was a string of numbers, and a little tag telling me her dad was named "Glim".
I had only been working for a few days, and already it felt eternal.

◉ E V E R Y T H I N G I N B E T W E E N

Worried you’ll still be missing something? Don’t be.
You’ll learn every last detail you need to know in order to get to where you’re trying to go on Etsy.
Included in this course is also all the right information on creating highly effective mockup photos, over 12+ hours of group coaching call replays, motivational print outs, cheat sheets, organizational Google Docs, recordings of me doing shop critiques, and SO MUCH MORE!

My 6 Figure Scaling Process: The I.O.D. Method

My I.O.D. Method (and the processes it’s comprised of) is literally my top seller secret and the heart and soul of this program.
It is my promise to you that each video of this course will be 110% value packed and ripe for immediate implementation.
The I.O.D. Method is deceptively simple and wildly effective:
➤ Step One: Identify – Top trends, niches, demand.
➤ Step Two: Optimize – Search engine optimization, listing photos, pricing, listing details.
Step Three: Develop – Scaling your business through testing/collecting real time data/building out based on that data.

MODULE ONE: IDENTIFY

All successful businesses begin with effectively identifying where the most viable opportunities lie. Print on demand is no different. Without the proper identification of ideal customers, niches, and in demand designs, nothing else will matter to the growth of your shop. This module teaches you next level identification – where to look, how to decide, and ultimately what choices will maximize your growth long term.
In module one, you’re going to learn:
  • Potent, no-nonsense trend researching (AKA in demand product identification) and methods to collect/save your findings in an organized and easily manageable way.
  • Verifying trend research results through a highly accurate and simple resource (erank.com) that will allow you to quickly decide, based on specific parameters, whether to “take or toss” ideas.
  • The exact processes and resources (checklists/templates) I use for my own shops to identify the gold mine niches that few (if any) other sellers are taking advantage of.

Using the strategies I created and intricately detail in this module, I increased my own shops sales and revenue by over 50% when I first began implementing these steps.

They worked for me and they’ve been easily replicated by thousands of my students too!

MODULE TWO: OPTIMIZE

Once you’ve gathered the right information and narrowed down your product, customer and niche decisions – none of that is any good until you optimize it. Which is where this module comes in with what many of my students have dubbed the “gold mine” amidst everything I teach. It’s truly that juicy!
In module two, you’re going to learn:
  • How to find, select, and structure keywords to create optimal titles and tags to get your listings in front of more shoppers organically. There are 80 million+ shoppers on Etsy each year. The right keywords get you in front of the right buyers, and your business soars as a result.
  • How to master utilizing the right listing photos to captivate your customer and create the irresistible urge to click and find out more about your product – even amidst a sea of competitors in search results. The competition is no match for expertly chosen listing photos.
  • Overall listing optimization to create the ideal customer experience and sustain a high conversion rate (how effective your listings are at converting browsers into buyers) through description, pricing, shipping (and more) details.

Optimization is transforming a listing from mediocre performer to best seller status. It’s a non-negotiable in a 6-figure shop!

MODULE THREE: DEVELOP

Development is the ever-evolving process of taking your business to new levels all the time. Your shop’s expansion depends on this phase and it’s something I’ve boiled down to an absolute science over the years. It’s one thing to be good at identifying trends and creating good designs… It’s a totally different thing to know how to build a consistent, booming business over time with those trends and designs! This is a piece of the puzzle that most sellers are fully missing and that’s what the development phase is all about.
In module three, you’re going to learn:
  • How to take what you’ve learned in module 1 & 2 and expand on this information by testing, collecting real time data, and building out on what’s working (affectionately coined my “scientist/ detective/gymnast” phases).
  • How to pay close attention to specific signals your customers are sending you about what they’re wanting that most sellers miss entirely.
  • How to continue to smash your goals and develop a strong brand, customer base, and product offering that stands the test of time.

If you’re amazing for a long term, full time business – you have to be an expert at long term development strategies.

2023.03.21 06:29 Old_Ebb6366 Bullied and ostracized at chicago bar for a year

I really contemplated for a while not writing this review. I’m someone that values harmony in my living environment so I don’t love to “ruffle” feathers unnecessarily but my personality is a little contradictory in the sense that although I’m not a “confrontational” person by nature, I have an intensely visceral reaction to injustice of any kind and if a confrontation is warranted I will not shy from it. I moved to the Gold Coast in may last year. This bar… The lodge was one of my first stops. I’m going to be careful not to mention any specific names in this review because this isn’t meant to be an attack on any specific individuals involved in this situation. This is simply me speaking my truth. I enjoyed my initial visit to the lodge. I met a male manager who was welcoming and the staff seemed nice as well. I was definitely in a “post pandemic” mind space where I just wanted to go out and meet people. I am pretty extroverted for the most part so quarantine took a toll on my mental health. I was missing that sense of community and belonging. The Gold Coast had this energy of a quaint community oriented neighborhood and I was excited to get out there and make new friends. My second visit to the lodge was much less pleasant. A female bartender was working at the time. I got a cider and had my little service animal in training with me. I knew no one in the neighborhood at the time and it was nice to get out in a cozy bar near my home with my dog… it all seemed perfect. My pup was busy exploring the peanut shells on the ground which was so cute to watch… he wandered near a couple sitting at the bar and the woman understandably looked annoyed. I heard her audibly say something about me to the female bartender who chuckled. I decided to ignore it. Professionalism is a huge deal to me so I was a bit shocked when the bartender joined the customer in ridiculing me. It was hurtful and shocking. I should add that I’m an African immigrant and since moving to the US with my family I have experienced a lot of situations where I feel “othered” or “excluded” in predominantly white spaces for obvious reasons. Im used to this and unless it becomes direct…. I ignore it. And that interaction… although humiliating… wasn’t direct enough for me to make it an issue. I paid for my drink, tipped well and left. About 2 weeks later… I wandered into the lodge with two guys I met at another bar who wanted to come upstairs to my apartment to “hangout”. I suggested going to the lodge instead bc I just wasnt comfortable with having 2 guys I barely know to my tiny studio apartment. Upon arriving at the lodge I noticed that the same bartender who was working last time was working that night with another girl. I walked in and greeted them both and was responded to with smug looks and short responses. I thought nothing of it. Although this behavior is again hurtful… it just wasn’t direct enough for me to make it an issue. I’m grateful for my parents and the way I was raised… it’s not in my nature to make myself “smaller” or “dim my light” to make other people comfortable. I believe that as long as I’m respectful to others…. I give myself permission to be the most extroverted and brightest version of myself. I also believe respect should be reciprocal. Especially in the Midwest…lol it’s just socially awkward in my opinion to be be rude to others unprovoked. Especially if you work in customer service. The lodge has a very “laid back” energy and a lot of people in the Gold Coast are regulars there. That night… with the two male friends I walked in with $200 in cash and a card that had about $65 on it ( it’s not my primary card… I left my wallet at home and use this specific card for minor purchases). This is the part of the situation that I take complete responsibility for. I knew the lodge doesn’t take cash. I should have brought another card with. One of the guys I was with was getting increasingly pushy about me taking him to my apartment. That wasn’t going to happen and it wasn’t a friendship I wanted to continue lol but I wanted to have fun and knew I had enough money to pay for MY drinks. Like most girls at a bar… the guys I’m with usually paid for my drinks but in the particular situation where I didn’t feel completely safe with the guys I was with and I couldn’t depend on the female bartenders to look out for me I just wanted to pay for my own drinks so that I didn’t feel any pressure or obligation to take anyone to my apartment or do anything I wasn’t comfortable with. I had 4 shots. $65 on a credit builder card and $200 in cash. My bill came and my card inevitably declined for $70+ dollars. I was humiliated and the bartenders had been chuckling at me with regulars all night. At this point the guy I was with who was aggressively trying to come to my apartment and was realizing that would not happen took the opportunity to retaliate and walk out on me. The female bartender who I already had the previous unpleasant experience with proceeded to get in the middle of the bar, holding up my card and yelled that my card was declined and it needed to be taken cared of. I was mortified. There are usually cops outside the lodge… I’m friendly with most of them and I knew in that moment that I’d rather deal with a cop than this girl who insists on humiliating me every time I come into the bar. I’m no stranger to the energy I got from her. Women feeling eclipsed by my presence and wanting to humiliate me. I wanted no part of it. I asked to talk to the cops. She perked right up at the opportunity to throw the black girl to the cops. I’m not a criminal I have no reason to fear police officers whose duty is to make me feel safe. I think that’s a cultural misunderstanding on my part. I’m African…not African American and I’m still learning about race relations in America. I told her to “ move her fat ass out of my way” she was towering over me yelling at me while the entire bar watched and chuckled. It was humiliating. But I do regret insulting her. I think it gave her ammunition to demonize me in this situation and I also just hate being mean to people. The cops were actually very friendly….I was drunk and in a vulnerable state and I think they saw that. My card was eventually charged for the $65 dollars it would allow and I went home. Horrified. Embarrassed. I’m someone that struggles with depression and anxiety and I’m open about that bc I think a lot of people understand my struggles especially with all the social issues that have come up in the past couple of years. We’re all a little triggered.
In the society… in this world… as a black woman, I understand how the world sees me. But my personal power isn’t dependent on other peoples projections of my value. We all have power. My truth is my power. My rawness. My vulnerability. My compassion. My relentless pursuit of justice. That’s my power.
I wrote a review the next morning…. An extensive one like this one. Again….in a world where you aren’t seen… respected…. Loved… my truth is my power. I explained my experiences at the lodge till date… but I was immature in my wording. I didn’t call the female bartender by her name… I used physical descriptors that were offensive. I specifically used the words “fat ass”. I should ass that I use the word “fat” to describe myself all the time. It’s just a word to me…it’s an objective physical descriptor. But in this context it was offensive and I realize that. I was hurt by how she treated me… humiliated me. But it wasn’t an acceptable way to deal with the situation but relative to how I had been treated I felt justified taking that dig. In retrospect I realize that only decreased my credibility in the situation and created more animosity.
I moved on to the next phase of dealing with this very uncomfortable situation which was advocating for myself. I reached out to the HR department of the company that owns this bar and the lady I spoke with seemed like she cared and she told me she would investigate the situation. I waited patiently for 3 weeks or so…. Within that time… every time I walked past the lodge I was met with overt comments through their open windows from regulars. I can’t begin to explain how humiliating this was…this wasn’t the kind of attention I wanted in my new home. And as someone who is mentally fragile and deals with intense depression…this experience was deeply damaging. It hurt me to my core.
I decided to try something different. I went back to the lodge and spoke with said female bartender….I asked her what her issue was with me? I brought up her damaging and offensive behaviors( gossiping and ridiculing me to customers at the bar). She denied it and in turn brought up the fact that I called her “fat” I immediately apologized. I’m not a body shamer and I’m someone that actively tries to support other women. I explained to her that I’ve had a ton of experiences in my life where I’ve been treated unfairly for the color of my skin or women ostracizing me because they’re threatened by the way I look when I have makeup and fancy clothes on…( I have two sides to me… the tomboy and the princess… I love putting on a little foundation, lashes and lipstick and looking like a doll lol) and my extroversion. This was my attempt at radical vulnerability and she dismissed it immediately. “That has nothing to do with it, you were treated how you were bc of the way you were acting”. An admission that I was in fact being treated poorly and an insidious attempt to use racial stereotypes to demonize the black girl. “the way you were acting”. How was I acting? I wasn’t being obnoxious… I was doing what people do at a bar. Get drunk and have conversations. My goal wasn’t to be “right”, my goal with restoring harmony. So I offered her a hug which she understandably declined. I was told that I wasn’t allowed at the bar anymore. I was enraged by this. In my opinion I hadn’t done anything to warrant a ban. Cards get declined. I didn’t yell or act aggressively when I was humiliated in front of the entire bar…. A ban was unfair. There are tons of bars in the Gold Coast I don’t NEED to go to the lodge. It’s the principle. You cannot ostracize people from spaces because of your personal bias against them. It’s unfair. And this in my opinion constitutes as “direct” discrimination and disrespect. It was subtle and insidious and I wasn’t going to just sit back and take it.
In the weeks that followed every weekend I walked past the lodge I was met with catcalling and obscenities being yelled at me. I was told on dating apps by people in the neighborhood that a rumor was going about that I was a prositute. I remember the black male manager at the lodge asking me where I worked when I asked him to advocate for me about the bullying situation. At the time I thought it was an odd… irrelevant question in response to such a horrifying and traumatizing experience. Apparently you can’t be black and attractive in the Gold Coast or you’re probably a prostitute. I have a rewarding engineering job that I love. He added “ well if your card hadn’t gotten declined none of this would have happened”. I have nothing against sex workers but the defamation of my character was getting out of control and I needed to do something about it. My mental health was on a steady decline. I couldn’t eat or get out of bed. I was too humiliated to even leave the house...to walk my dog…No one should ever have to feel that amount of discomfort where the live.
I decided to escalate the situation and I sent emails to every management person I could find online associated with the lodge management group. My first email was responded to and I was told the situation would be “investigated”. I know they have cameras. They could have easily rolled back the footage to see the bartender humiliating me. Was I overcharged? I ordered 4 shots. How was it 70+ dollars?. Weeks passed. The bullying continued. My depression worsened and nothing was investigated.
The security guards at the lodge and affiliate bars had heard about the situation at this point and every time I visited the hange uppe ( which I loved)or shenanigans…I was greeted with disrespect from the guards. There was an air of blind tribalism. It didn’t seem to matter to anyone who was right or wrong in the situation. It had been decided that I was a problem and that was the narrative.
I went to the hangeuppe one Thursday and had a great time like a always do. Going out on the weekend It’s my catharsis after a long week of work. I get to dress up and look cute and meet cute boys. My extroverted nature loved it. One this Thursday though when I got to the door… I knew the guards were talking about me. They were staring at me and whispering as I waited in line and when it was my turn to take my ID… they just starred at me with a scrawl on their faces. At this point in this neighborhood… about 5 months into moving here I’ve gotten very good at ignoring negativity. I simply walked past them and said nothing. But I was hurt…at the end of the night I drunkenly said to one of the guards… “I know you think you know me…but you don’t even know my name. You heard rumors about me and you’re acting based on those without giving me the opportunity to explain myself”. He replied “I do know you”. I responded “actually you don’t…for example we’re both black but I’m African… like from the continent of Africa… you wouldn’t know that unless you actually got to know me… we are both black but we’re different. It’s not fair to make assumptions about people…we are all too complex and layered”. I regretted my drunken attempt at teaching a philosophical lesson immediately. I should have never brought up me being African. It was just an example but I could tell he took it the wrong way. He got very offended and told me to leave. I cried the rest of that night realizing that this would only make the public humiliation saga I was in worse.
The Saturday that followed I went back to the hanguppe like I usually do and was immediately told I wasn’t allowed. In front of everyone. I asked to speak with a manager and was referred to the black male manager who was working at shenanigans at the time. It was a Saturday night. Division street was filled with people and in front of everyone he said “I was told that you were harassing some of my guys at The Hangge Uppe on Thursday it’s become a pattern and because of that you are banned from all of our bars”. He said this in front of everyone and I was sooo humiliated. I knew I needed to advocate for myself. I responded “ It makes me extremely sad that you specifically would say this to me because every time I see you I’ve been kind to you and even given you a hug despite all the horrible things that your staff and other people that are aware of this situation have done to me.I don’t understand why you can’t judge my character based on your personal experiences with me rather than hearsay and rumors“. He responded “ you’re mentally disturbed”. I am not being dramatic when I say this is one of the most painful moments of my life if not the most humiliating and painful moment of my life. I could feel the pain in my throat. I can’t describe to you how I felt in that moment. I had opened up about my anxiety and depression to management when I was being bullied by their staff and regulars. I opened up about my mental health because I wanted the to understand the severity of the bullying and how deeply it was impacting. I haven’t had suicidal thoughts since high school and now they were a daily thing. Because of the actions of a group of people I woke up every day wishing I wasn’t alive. I can’t change being a woman. I can’t change being black. I can’t change being “attractive”. I can’t change being an extrovert. Why would I want to exist in a would where I’m not accepted for who I am but instead punished for it.
The bullying at the lodge and their franchise bars only stopped bc I got a lawyer and a cease and desist was sent to management. I had to advocate for myself. In a messed up way I’m grateful for this experience. It forced me to grow in some pretty profound ways. It forced me to focus more on self care and self love and less on seeking external validation to feel loved. Not everyone is going to like me and that’s okay. It’s important for us all to realize that you cannot project stereotypes and assumptions about groups of people unto an individual. I truly believe that if I wasn’t a black woman someone would have done something to advocate for me. But I’m not a victim. I never will be. I am love.

2023.03.21 06:27 Old_Ebb6366 Bullied and Ostracized at chicago bar for a year

It’s important for us all to realize that you cannot project stereotypes and assumptions about groups of people unto an individual. I truly believe that if I wasn’t a black woman someone would have done something to advocate for me. But I’m not a victim. I never will be. I am love.

2023.03.21 06:24 Old_Ebb6366 Bullied and ostracized at chicago bar for a year

2023.03.21 06:21 MisterSnippy An [Anarchist]'s Adventure

The Drake materializes out of a shadowed stonework alcove in Salazsar, her dusty maroon scales that are peppered with a hidden layer of yellow cascade across her lithe, muscular, body. Her clothing is simple and economical. She's wearing a very nice long black canvas overcoat, a dark-brown linen long-sleeved shirt, well-worn brown denim pants, and an understated, yet expensive, pair of leather boots. Minus the coat, it's the kind of clothing you would expect to see on [Climbers] and [Miners]; the sort who would need something affordable and strong that repaired easily and lasted. Her coat is the outlier of her outfit, but in the winter chill she's no outlier for wearing one.
It's apparent that she's middle-aged, and you'd never mistake her for a younger Drake. From the state of her scales, she looks to be in her fifties, and she wears the age with a rugged beauty. Her limbs have a subtle power to them, and you can tell that her natural muscle, honed through years of back-breaking labour of some sort, are enhanced by a Skill or two. If you were closely watching her, the next thing you would notice is the pain that she's in. This woman is in pain, of both the mental and physical variety. Some people have a life harder than others and this woman has had a life harder than most. You can tell she is in pain because of her expression. Her blue-gray eyes squint, her brows furrow automatically, jaw clenched as she grits her teeth, and she has a scowl permanently affixed to her face. Her name is Kessva Sewing, a name spoke in hushed pitying whispers from those who have heard her story from someone else who heard it from an acquaintance. A few years ago she lost her only daughter in a mine collapse, and her husband shortly after from suicide.
It would be easy to assume she had become a wretched person based on her constant expression, the kind who drinks and takes it out on others, but you can tell that there's a kindness hidden deep below. That she's constantly restraining any negativity and hate. Her agony has not crushed her spirit, it has not made her hate people, it has not made her mean, it has compressed her soul into something purer, something stronger. She forever moves forward, living on with permanent agony that wont leave her until the day she breathes her last, and that day will be a long while from today, you can tell. She effortlessly blends into the crowd while still being apart from it, a separate element still integrated into the whole. She moves with purpose, focusing her mind on her task, weaving her way forward through the crowd, trailing a young female Gnoll.
The Gnoll looks to be about fifteen, she is of the tall and wiry variety, her fur well groomed and meticulously trimmed. She must come from a wealthier family, considering her clothing. She wears a muted green long-sleeve shirt and a dark-blue pair of cotton pants. As she darts ahead, she gives constant cautious glances to and fro. In her mind she's scanning the crowd, looking for danger, but in reality she just looks nervous and skittish. Suspicious, in other words. She's moving towards a goal of some sort, and her hands wont stop feeling at a pocket on the left side of her pants, before they move away quickly as if touching a hot pan, as if she's afraid someone will see her placing her hand there. Everything about her screams inexperienced criminal. Just a few days from ruining her future. She couldn't make a [Dangersense] Skill go off if she tried.
She quickly slides into an alleyway, one of probably tens of thousands that exist in Salazsar. You wouldn't be able to tell it apart from any other alleyway in the city, but it somehow manages to look less inconspicuous than the surrounding side streets. Passersby find that their eyes simply glide over the area, as if it wasn't there. The hallmark of Skill usage. She gives a shaky breath, thinking that she's made it. A rise of excitement rises up within her, a feeling of importance and righteousness. She gives another criminal's glance around and sees not a soul, then breathes out deeply. It's time, and she's in the perfect spot. Her hand steadies and reaches towards her left pocket, before withdrawing the item carried within. As her hand rises from her pocket, so too rises the wand of [Fireball]. Or, it should have, for where the wand was grasped in her hand is now an empty spot, and a iron claws wrap around her wrist.
"Aaah!"
The startled Gnoll, Errkia Tiekha, snaps her head around in fear and tries to get away. She quickly burns through a few Skills, and she has a handful that are useful in these situations because she's an [Anarchist] and [Urban Explorer], and finds with shock that they don't seem to have had much of an impact. Kessva Sewing grunts, and has to use two Skills, one of which being [Stable Grip], to hold on, but Errkia is low-level in both of her classes and Kessva can mostly rely on her honed strength to overpower the Skills.
"What are you doing!... You can't prove I was doing anything wrong!" Errkia shouts quickly, sounding almost as unconvinced with the argument as Kessva does.
"I'm stopping you from making a hatchling's mistake, what are you thinking?!?"
Kessva drops the wand of [Fireball] into her coat pocket and grabs Errkia's other arm. The younger Gnoll has a fearful expression and struggles for a second, feet sliding on the slick cobblestone in the alley, but gives up when it's apparent that she can't escape. She'd just tire herself out in the Level 32 former [Reliable Mine Supervisor]'s grasp.
"Listen, kid, we're going to have a talk. I've noticed you and your little 'friends' running around causing trouble, and if you don't want me taking you on a one-way trip to The Watch you'd better sit down and have a talk with me."
Kessva fixes the terrified girl with a hard, unflinching, stare.
"You don't understand! You just don't get it!"
The young [Anarchist] shouts, more towards the street than the female Drake restraining her, now desperately hoping she can get someone else's attention and break away.
"Alright, if you're going to play difficult with me, I'm going to have to make this harder for you. [Supervisor's Reprimand] Do you have any idea how dumb your idea is, as if running around with a deathtrap of a wand playing rookie criminal, is going to affect anything!? You wouldn't change anything, just start down a life where you'll spend most your days staring out of enchanted prison bars, or dead."
The fight goes out of Kessva suddenly, as if she's just now realizing the stupidity of her intended actions. The Skill will last for awhile, it's one of Kessva's better ones, and one that she relied on a lot when she still had a career in the mines. She's semi-retired now.

She walks, mostly drags, Errkia to her small condo. Once they make it to her humble house, she drops the Gnoll into a well made wooden seat in the living room, before starting to make them both a cup of tea.
Errkia stares erratically around the sparsely furnished apartment as Kessva clinks and clanks in the kitchen, but by now she's realizing that the Drake probably doesn't intend to hurt her. And she couldn't escape if she tried her best. She's upset, not about getting caught, but more because she didn't get to use her expensive [Fireball] wand that she bought from a friend. That was going to have been so much fun. She's been chewed out before, and already she's building up a mental wall, preparing to shut herself off from the world and the dressing down that's coming her way.
"I hope you like Chai tea, because it's all I have at the moment. Do you want any sugar in yours? Don't worry about the cost, I'm prepared to use some special, just for you."
Kessva says, in a voice that sounds like a long, gentle, sigh. Kinder than seems should be coming from the scarred calloused Drake with an iron grip. Softer than the harsh words she said earlier. It startles Errkia out of her mental preparations and she feels a bit of mental whiplash as she tries to reorient herself. This conversation isn't going where she thought it was going to go.
With a clink that reverberates through the room, the former [Miner] sets down the two beautiful teacups, before lowering herself into the seat with a pained grunt. They must have been important, they're obviously custom-made, and on each is the design of stylized Drake and Gnoll [Miners] sitting down and having a lunch break. It's cutesy, and feels out of place when compared to the gruff-looking woman in front of her.
"Back's not like it used to be, without my Skills I'd struggle to be as agile as I am. My name is Kessva Sewing, by the way."
Kessva holds a hand to her back, and Errkia fixes her with a look that says 'I don't care, I'm young and angry at the world' before grumpily studying the tea as if that would make any poison disappear, before picking up the teacup and taking a sip. And promptly grimacing.
"Gross."
Kessva laughs, and it's a genuine laugh. Errkia Tiekha gets the sense that she's done this countless times, sitting down with forlorn or angry [Miner]'s over a cup of tea when they did something stupid. It only makes her angrier. Not because she dislikes Kessva, but because Kessva is likeable, and she feels angry that she doesn't feel so angry anymore. It feels like when her parents are disappointed in something she did, but still forgiving of it. For a moment she suspects the use of a Skill, and then feels ashamed at her suspicion as Kessva reaches over and drops a bit of sugar into her tea.
"Hopefully that will help, if you want more free to add as much as you want. I don't drink mine with sugar."
They sit in silence, sipping their tea, and time passes by for a few minutes. The young Gnoll takes a look around the room, really looking now, trying to figure out who Kessva Sewing really is. There are two paintings of Drakes that she assumes are Kessva's family, and some trinkets, bits of ore or gems displayed from mining operations gone well. There's a scroll on the wall that says something about her service to the Emera corporation, but she can't make out more than the title. Besides that there's not much else besides the worn furniture and the teacups, which leads her to believe that the lady doesn't spend much time in her own home.
"Alright, let's talk."
Kessva says and startles Errkia out of her observations.
"Do you enjoy it?"
"What?"
Errkia says, confused.
"Do you enjoy being a [Rebel] or [Thief] or whatever class you are?"
"I'm an [Anarchist]..."
The young Gnoll says grumpily, with a hint of pride, as if it's obvious what she is.
"Alright [Anarchist], do you enjoy being an [Anarchist]?"
Kessva's tone of voice isn't judging, and is purely curious, which surprises Errkia. She wonders for a moment if the Drake has a truth stone or something and decides to just be honest. She doesn't feel the need to lie here, not now. Especially if telling the truth gets her out of going to jail.
"Yeah, it's exciting."
To her surprise, Kessva gives a knowing nod.
"I have no doubt it is, I think we all have times where we wish we could run around and cause a bit of chaos. Especially as we get older."
She gives a full grin, and gives the impression that she has a history herself of dubious deeds.
"What, think I'm going to be angry at you? Yell at you? I get it, I really do. It's fun to run around with your friends, hit the town, fool around. I did it for awhile, and then I grew up."
The words make Errkia flinch. They're honest words, and the kinds of words she didn't want to hear. She's obviously new to the [Anarchist] lifestyle. Kessva stands up for a moment and walks over to take some snacks out of a cabinet she obviously has pre-prepared for these kinds of talks. It once again fills Errkia with irritation. She wont let this Drake talk her down. Kessva places the snacks down on the table and sits again with another grunt, rubbing at a spot in her back.
"What are you wanting to achieve, what do you want to do as an [Anarchist]?"
The question stumps Errkia for a sliver of a moment. Obviously she wants to, uh, take down the establishment! It wasn't a question she was expecting, okay?
"I want to take down the establishment! The greedy Wall Lords and Ladies. The rich! I want things to be equal for everyone. I want to tear the system down."
She says, not really understanding who the 'establishment' is. Tacitly ignoring the fact that she's come from money herself. Someone has fed her these lines and she believes them with confidence.
"Alright, what are you going to do after you take them down, the 'establishment'?"
This question really stumps Errkia. Nobody she's talked to has told her what comes after, just that they need to stop the man the people in charge. Her face flushes behind her scales, but she still finds some words after deliberating.
"We make a better Salazsar, one where everyone is equal, where Gnolls and the poor and [Miners] aren't oppressed and we all get a fair share! Where everyone gets to live their life and not worry about if they can eat, where they can retire, where injuries don't ruin their lives."
The words are the most heartfelt she's said so far. They come from deep within her. They're childish, but real, and they're only hers. Not lines she's been fed, not ideals she's been given from someone else. These come from the soul, they are intrinsic to her, and to who she wants to be. Gone is the anger towards the world, instead it's replaced with anger against injustice in general, passion for peace and anger for those who oppress. She believes in a better world, and it makes Kessva so very sad. Deep down most people long for a fairer world, even if it's just for them, and she knows the feeling all too well.
"I wish we could. I wish we could take the Wall Lords and Wall Ladies down from their towers tomorrow, take them to the mines and force them to see the plight of common Drakes and Gnolls. I want to shove it in their faces and scream. I want to yell at them, beat them, to show them what they're doing to us, and I want at least Salazsar to be better. To be a city where the world looks at us, like Khelt or Samal, and knows that's how it should be."
Errkia steadily looks her in the eye.
"So why don't you? If you really think so too why don't you also become an [Anarchist]? Why did you stop me?"
Kessva was expecting it but the words still slap her across the face. 'Why don't you.' Time has beaten down on her, but her soul burns of brighter stuff.
"I have. I've spent my life trying. I'm a Level 32 [Reliable Mine Supervisor] and I didn't get there from hurting folks and crushing people underneath me. I did my best to help, to keep my friends and employees safe. To help those who were injured, to keep people employed. I moved up because I wanted to change things, and I thought that if I gained in level that I could. Maybe I did, for awhile, in the areas I could control, but only there. I did the best I could and I'm glad I was able to do what I did. But using a fake [Fireball] wand and blowing your claws off isn't going to help people. Assaulting [Miners] for working for the corporations wont make things better. Hurting people because you can wont change anything, and it hasn't. Damaging artwork and trying to cause riots in the city isn't helping either. I don't know the best way to make things better, but what you [Anarchists] are doing isn't making things better, it's making them worse. Ancestors, where did such a Class even come from."
You can see the sadness and the fatigue reappear on her face, although it never really left. It's part of who she is now. She doesn't age, instead it's as if the age settles further on her. The [Anarchist] can see now more than ever who Kessva is, and who she used to be. She can imagine a young lady much like herself, filled with passion, and the desire for change. The worn Drake stands up and puts a hand on Errkia's shoulder.
"Follow me for a moment, I have something to show you."
The Gnoll stands, and follows her out. Now she's feeling a bit shaken. She knew about the art destruction, but hadn't heard about [Miners] getting hurt, or riots trying to be started. She can feel the need to convince Kessva in her bones, but stays quiet for a moment and lets her lead her through the city. It's not her moment anymore, and she'll have her turn.

Kessva leads her up a tower that Errkia didn't know was there. Soon she's higher than she's ever been and when she steps off the last step onto level ground she feels a sense of wonder. They step out onto a sort of platform, and the Gnoll gasps. The sky is bright orange, chasing the last dregs of sunset, before transitioning to a dark blue, carrying the coming night with it. The twin moons sit in the sky, pale guardians, surrounded by a crowd of stars, vying for their attention. It's freezing, her breathe fogs as she breathes out in the cold winter air, but it's worth it. The city is aglow with lights coming from everywhere down below; windows, buildings, streetlamps. There are countless lights shimmering and sparkling like the starlit sky brought down to earth for mortals to see. The people, not unlike ants, move through the city like a tide and she realizes that in a way she's seeing the entire history of a city here. Thousands of years of growth, construction, expansion, all leading to where the city is today. And what is a city without its' people? How many millions of people live and work here, going about their lives, loving, crying, just existing. Building the city stone by stone, brick by brick. Somewhere at some point the first brick was layed, the first foundation created, and the city was born. An emotion rises within her, a feeling of loss and sadness. She knows that this will be one of the most beautiful sights she'll ever see in her life, and suddenly she's hit by a desire to show everyone she knows this spot. How can the rich see this every day and not want to better the lives of others? How can they see such a sight and still step on those beneath them? Kessva gives her a pat on the back and walks over to lean on the railing.
"My husband showed me this spot, and I think it was one of the greatest gifts he ever gave me, along with my daughter, and our love. I know that long after I'm gone people will still discover this tower and others like it, they'll see this beauty through different eyes, and know why so many Drakes and Gnolls stay here. That will never be taken that away from us. How can you want to destroy this? Throw all the Wall Lords and Ladies off their towers, but everyone deserves to see this sight, this..."
She loses the words, for a moment trapped in a past Errkia doesn't know. The sadness shows up on her face again, but there's also something else there. Relief, happiness? She only now realizes how lonely Kessva is, how sad she is. How much she wants others to be happy, when she couldn't and can't. The [Anarchist] speaks up.
"I don't want to destroy the city, I just want to stop the corporations from controlling everything."
"No, tearing down the city is exactly what you're doing. I've seen [Protestors] before, [Miners] striking, crowds shouting for a change, people stopping anyone from entering a certain mine to work. You [Anarchists] are different. That wand you bought, how much was it?"
"300 gold."
Errkia says sheepishly, a pit opening up in her stomach. It was a lot, for her especially. She sold off several of her own possessions for it.
"This wand isn't a real wand of [Fireball]. If you had activated it you would have blown your hand off, possibly killed yourself. Whoever made this or sold this to you couldn't enchant worth a Creler's ass."
"That's not- you don't know that!"
The young Gnoll shouted, feeling a pit of anger and shame open deep inside her. She knew it was too good to be true, but she trusted her friends judgement.
"Let me show you something, and after I do we're going to need to run, so get ready for that."
Kessva said with a frank tone that invited confusion. She slowly, carefully, pulled the wand out of her pocket, before chucking it off the tower.
"Hey! You can't just do that, that was-"
"[Controlled Activation]"
Errkia doesn't get to finish her sentence before the world goes white from the explosion and she goes pale. While she's blinking spots out of her eyes only one thought enters her mind. That would have killed her if she had activated it like planned. They can already hear a few startled screams below, but the explosion was so high up and far away it wasn't anywhere close to touching anything, or hurting anyone. After sprinting away they breathlessly make it back to somewhere out of sight. Kessva rests against a wall, planting her hands on her knees, breathing in shaky gasps.
"Dead gods, I haven't had to sprint like that in awhile. I'm going to be feeling this tomorrow and I already feel it. Your friend who enchanted that and sold it to you, that's who you want running things? That's the kind of person you want trying to take down the corporations?"
"I didn't know. They- they're cool, they just need time. They'll level and things will change."
The [Anarchist] paled, and realized that the people she hung out with were more talk than action. Kessva walks over to her, preparing for her final talk of the night.
"I've led you on long enough, let me get to it before we run out of daylight. I didn't come to you for nothing, and I mean what I said. [Anarchist] is a dangerous class, but I want you to help me."
The look of confusion Errkia gave her made her want to laugh. As if saying 'wait, you weren't just trying to convince me to not be an [Anarchist] this whole time?'
"I'm a member of a group, who knows if it'll get anywhere, if we can change anything, but we're trying. We're trying to 'unionize' and bargain with the corporations, get better conditions for everyone, Gnolls especially. Our belief is that if we can get enough people we can beat any Skills that come our way, we can force them to negotiate better conditions, better hours, better pay. A city is useless without its people. Working under some Wall Lords is much better than others, and we're trying to make it so that working for even the worst Wall Lord will be a good, safe, job. Well, as safe as mining can be. For all the flaws of the [Anarchist] class, there are some interesting Skills there, and I want you to help me make this happen. As bad as it sounds, we need criminal classes. The corporations are just gonna sick The Watch and their private armies on us. I'm trying to get as many people as I can. It's going to be a mess, but we have to try. Are you willing to help me?"
There was a look of righteousness there, a feeling of justice. Kessva knows she's in the right, and she has the levels and Skills to make sure she can organize this without getting people needlessly hurt. She still looks tired, worn, sad, but there's a sense of purpose that has never left her, even since she was young, she has only recently realized how to use it. Mining isn't her life anymore, she's changed. She's a Level 11 [Union Organizer]. And Errkia Tiekha knows that this was what she was chasing all along. Things wont be perfect, but it will be a step towards the fairness she so dearly wants. Her eyes meet Kessva's, and a weight leaves her body. The only thing she says is-
"Yes."
