2023.03.21 08:12 Notyourbiscuit Backpack recommendation for quick access to small Fujifilm Camera?

A few months ago I decided to go phoneless and only use a cellular watch which has been amazing but the one thing I miss is having a camera easily accessible in my pocket at all times. I have a small Fujifilm with a single lens (the lens barrel only extends about an inch from the camera body) and I'm looking for a squarish commuter bag I can swing off my shoulder and gain quick access to the camera without, if possible, carrying a "camera backpack." My avoidance of something like a Peak Design Everyday Zip is primarily because I don't need a full side section of my bag dedicated to my camera and associated gear and also I'm not a huge fan of the curvy bag lines... (I love a more boxy bag) I know, I'm being waaaay too picky.
I currently commute with a Timbuk2 Especial Medio (30L) which I've loved for many years but it lacks any small compartment that will fit my camera and so I've just been gingerly lowering my camera into the main compartment wrapped in a thick microfiber cloth... which isn't great. I'm looking for a bag that can hold a 14" computea 6x6 glass rubbermaid for lunch/work shirt/knick-knacks and, of course, the camera.
Anyone have any recommendations of bags that have worked for them for this use case?

2023.03.21 07:45 yongelee_ Is 70 usd / hr a good rate as a freelance "senior web dev"?

I'm making 70 usd / hr and I usually invoice around 15-25 hours a work a week so let's say 20 hours which is 1400 usd a week.
I only track the hours I spend coding so that could be anywhere between 0-6 hours a day depending on my work.
I have 2 clients that I'm working with right now at the same rate.
I'm enjoying my life as a "digital nomad" freelance front end web developer (doing next.js work) but I feel like I'm missing out on a lot of income.
At the rate of 70 * 20 * 48 weeks of working (unpaid time off) that's 67,200 usd a year, which is quite low for a senior level dev (I have 8 years of frontend experience react / next js experience)
I like to think I'm working "part time" to enjoy other aspects of my life like traveling and working on other projects but lately I've had all my energy taken from working on client work and can't really find time and energy to work on other stuff. So it feels like I'm at a job without the benefits of a job or the salary. Plus I would get paid vacations rather than guilt trips about taking time off and not getting paid for that.
And as i look around at the other job opportunities for a person with my skills and experience, I'm leaving out potentially 100k a year from income and maybe even working less hard that I am now with a real job.
So I'm wondering what other people's opinions are on my situation.
I'm also not very happy with the working situation with one of my clients, they're a growing b2b software startup and it feels like my responsibilities and expectations with them are like having a real job but with less pay and no employment benefits.
My other client is very chill and I enjoy working with him, it's pretty ideal situation.
So yeah what would you do in my situation? I would maybe propose to my preferred client about my opinion on my situation and hope he offers me something better in return for exclusivity with him? Or do I try to find a full time remote job with like a 100k raise?

2023.03.21 07:39 radzionc Why Focusing on the Front-End Could be the Key to Starting Your Career

I have six years of professional experience as an engineer. While most of the time I've been a front-end developer, my first two jobs were full-stack positions. Coming from these two types of experience, I believe focusing on the front end would be the most reliable career trajectory for most of us. However, with lots of knowledge and experience, you can succeed as a generalist too. By either being a product engineer and getting significant equity early on or by building your projects and being able to cover basic back-end needs.
If I had to start my engineering career over, I would pick front-end rather than full-stack or back-end. It's hard to be good at both disciplines as a beginner or to make an effective resume with back-end projects without UI. It is easier to get going with the front end since it's more interactive, and you will get more encouragement seeing your work alive in the browser. Also, there are more open front-end positions, so you might have an easier time getting your first job as a UI engineer.
From my observations, in the current stage of technology, a full-stack developer would spend the most time doing front-end work. APIs usually don't change as often as the UI. Server-side logic can stay the same for a long time, while the interface constantly evolves due to various reasons, such as feedback, analytics, or new purely UI features. While both disciplines experienced lots of technological progress, I've noticed that when building a new feature, it takes less time to add an endpoint than to make a UI according to a Figma design.
If you want to pursue a full-stack route, I recommend getting very good with TypeScript since you will use it for both ends. While there are other languages for server-side tasks, having TypeScript across the stack will be more comfortable for both a team and a solo operator. People expect better and better interfaces, so having profound CSS knowledge will make you more effective at tackling UI tasks. For libraries or frameworks, the most reliable choice is to stick to React and continue with NextJS, which could be a full-stack tool considering API routes and Vercel.
To cover basic dev-ops needs, you can pick the combination of AWS and Terraform for hosting and managing your server-side infrastructure. Take a closer look at AWS Lambda for running APIs, S3 for storage, and DynamoDB as a no-SQL database. Terraform will allow you to control AWS resources by writing code, so you don't have to click through the web interface and later can recreate a setup for a new app by reusing your existing configs. Libraries for making NodeJS API don't have much difference. I found Apollo Server handy for making GraphQL API, and Prisma comfortable for SQL databases.

2023.03.21 07:29 Pooja-12 Machine Learning Trends And Development – 2023 Update

Data Science and Machine learning (ML) has come a long way in recent years, as can be seen by looking at its history. Further developments are anticipated to appear this year as the trend continues! There will be significant improvements in speed and effectiveness in 2023. You must be aware of machine learning trends to stay competitive. There are also a number of ML and best data science courses in India, which are instructor-led and help you build a career in data science and ML.
The most interesting developments and trends to watch for in 2023 are listed below:
  1. Democratization of ML
France is among a number of nations aiming to create a strong AI ecosystem. However, they are confronted with a severe lack of candidates for IT jobs, including those requiring data science expertise.
Perhaps the solution lies in the democratization of ML. Integrating machine learning technology into use cases and instructional programs advances along with the technology itself.
Companies like AWS and Amazon are engaging in ML technologies this year to increase access to it due to the growth of cloud computing. More individuals will have the chance to profit from these developments in AI if training is made available for data scientists.
Thus, this is your moment to leverage it if you want to succeed in the ML space. Employing offshore IT workers, particularly those with this area-specific expertise, is advantageous for companies investing in machine learning systems.
  1. Machine learning using minimal and no code.
The era of handling and setting up machine learning through computer code is long gone. 2023 will see a rise in the use of low-code and no-code platforms.
This method facilitates the creation and application of ML models by people without considerable coding or technical knowledge. These solutions offer one graphical user interface (GUI), including pre-built components, like algorithms, data pretreatment tools, and model evaluation measures.
This year, get ready for your projects in machine learning because, using this method, you can quickly assemble a pipeline for them by placing the various parts onto a canvas and providing their parameters. In contrast to conventional ML programming, low-code and no-code ML have restrictions, such as fewer customization choices and lower-quality models. To be sure, it offers a simple and practical method for getting started with ML!
  1. ML Models Become More Complex
Organizations will be able to gain more useful information from business data and make better decisions in 2023, thanks to the advancements made in machine learning (ML) models. This has occurred due to improvements in training sets and the expansion of high-quality data sets available for training models.
Foundation models have frequently decreased the demand for training data. Once modified, IT can be used again for various purposes.
Businesses profit from its easy adoption, allowing them to, for example, better comprehend their contracts where it demands a degree of detail from AI models.
This model method, which has its roots in the processing of natural languages, has revolutionized that discipline and is currently utilized in fields like customer service analysis.
Don't miss the chance to benefit from some of the most complex models currently accessible if you're working to create ML systems this year. These foundation models won't just drastically cut down on your expenses but also boost your final results. Learn more about it through an industry-accredited data science course online, developed by Leanbay.
  1. Embedded Deep Learning or TinyML
2023 will see a rise in the use of embedded machine learning, which offers many new opportunities.
Using edge computing for on-device real-time processing, embedded machine learning (ML) and tinyML function by embedding AI algorithms into hardware and software.
The deep learning system must be taught on data before the trained model can be integrated into the system or device. After creating the model, the gadget or system can utilize it to anticipate outcomes according to arriving data without sending it to another location for processing. Due to the device's ability to make forecasts in real-time, AI is subsequently faster and more responsive.
By reducing latency and enabling your machine learning systems to provide better results, taking full advantage of this is advantageous. In 2023, this trend is anticipated to gain far more traction with the development of 5G technology.
If you want to enhance your machine learning models this year, look into embedded deep learning or TinyML! That may be the key to gaining access to cutting-edge applications that will put you ahead of your competitors.
  1. Generic Adversarial Network (GAN)
One machine learning trend that will cause a stir in the community in 2023 is GAN. In light of this, if you're interested in exploring cutting-edge ML, you should pay close attention to this trend.
The neural network type "GANs" creates new data using the combined efforts of two networks: the generator and the discriminator.
They cooperate in the following manner: the determiner tries to tell the difference between actual and bogus data, while the generator makes fictitious data. The generator becomes better at producing more realistic data as the two protocols vie for attention. GANs can be used for various tasks, such as constructing more precise simulations for scientific study and producing fresh images, movies, and music.
GANs are anticipated to significantly impact the advancement of advanced artificial intelligence technologies in 2023 and beyond, given the ongoing rise of big data and the rising need for more realistic and varied AI-generated content.
  1. Multimodal Computer Learning (MML)
MML has a bright future as a still-emerging area of machine learning. What, though, is MML?
The idea that now the environment can be viewed through various channels or modalities is used in MML to build more useful models. In artificial intelligence, the term "multimodality" refers to creating models based on machine learning that can simultaneously see an event through numerous modalities, much like humans do.
As scientists continue to create sophisticated MML models, we anticipate further advancements this year. Even general AI, or artificial general intelligence, is thought to be possible with this (AGI).
Keep a look out for ML improvements in MML if you want to be in the lead with ML development!
  1. Machine Learning Operations (MLOps)
One of the new machine learning innovations that will significantly benefit organizations this year is MLOPs. It is obvious that conventional development methods might not be sufficient to exploit ML and AI, given their recent upsurge. At this point, MLOps steps in, providing a novel methodology that streamlines and effectively integrates the creation and implementation of ML systems.
Data collection and management are two goals of MLOps. Automation is now more necessary than ever because of the rising data volume. One of the core tenets of the DevOps methodology and a key element of MLOps is the systems life cycle.
This aids businesses in managing the entire lifespan of their Machine learning tasks, from design through implementation and beyond.
Expect to observe additional enterprises use MLOps in their operations this year as they search for efficient means of controlling the creation and implementation of their Machine learning tasks.

Final Words

In the upcoming years, as machine learning continues to grow, we may anticipate even more fascinating new innovations as these models become increasingly more powerful and useful across various industries. Get in step with the best data science course online, if you want to familiarize yourself with ML techniques and develop a career in ML and data science.

2023.03.21 07:12 alamar99 Dakine Motive 30L - First Impressions

Dakine Motive 30L - First Impressions
I have been shopping for a new backpack in earnest since November. Like so many of you I have a specific list of requirements and desirables:

Requirements:

  1. Full opening: Clamshell, tri-zip, etc. No suitcase style!
  2. Dual exterior water bottle pockets
  3. Laptop sleeve accessible when fully packed, probably external
  4. External pocket large enough for over-ear headphones
  5. Less than 1.5 kg
  6. No/removable/stashable hip belt
  7. Not tactical looking
  8. Unicorn size (25-30L range)

Desirables:

  1. Luggage passthrough
  2. External lash points
  3. Additional internal/external pockets
  4. < $200
  5. Compression Straps
  6. Stand up on its own

Packs Considered:

1. ULA Dragonfly (Returned) There’s a lot to like about the Dragonfly, including the excellent customer service, but in the end the mesh front pocket just didn’t work for me and I returned it. More first impressions at the link: 📷onebag on Reddit: ULA Dragonfly First Impressions reddit.com 2. 5.11 Tactical COVRT18 2.0 (Returned) There was something off about the way this pack fit me, possibly just too small. It was awkward to access the main pocket, awkward to access the laptop pocket and I experienced some sticking zippers. More first impressions at the link: 📷onebag on Reddit: 5.11 Tactical COVRT18 2.0 First Impressions reddit.com 3. Nike Utility Speed 27L (Returned) They had a patterned green version on clearance, and I ordered this one on a whim. Actually not a bad bag for the price, but definitely packs smaller than the stated size of 27L and a bit cheap feeling overall. 📷Nike Utility Speed Training Backpack (27L). Nike.com nike.com 4. Ogio Fuse 25L (Returned) I really liked a lot about this bag, but the luggage passthrough sticks into your back and is really annoying. More first impressions at the link: 📷onebag on Reddit: Ogio Fuse 25L First Impressions reddit.com 5. Dakine Motive 30L Last week I came across the Dakine motive online. I’m 99% sure had looked at the Dakine site before, and based on the complete lack of information I’m pretty sure this is a newly-released bag. I ordered it immediately. First impressions are overall good, but I do have some quibbles.
Listed at $155 I used a 15% off coupon (OHANA15) to bring it down to $131.75 + tax (shipping was free). 📷Motive Backpack 30L dakine.com _____

Weight & Dimensions:

The Dakine website lists the bag as 21.25 x 12.59 x 4, but the product tag specifies 21.5 x 12 x 6.5 which is a lot more accurate. My own measurements of the bag comfortably packed are 19.5 x 12.5 x 9.5. There is a sizable external front pocket (more on that later) that doesn’t share dimension with the main pocket, and filling it will really increase the depth of the bag. Listed at 1170g, it weighs in at 1088g on my kitchen scale.
With & without water bottles and on my back. I am 6'2\" / 195 lbs for reference. I've got a couple cheap freebie carabiners on the top lash points and a size medium HeroClip on the bottom.

Opening

Full clamshell with the zipper wrapping around up top, so can operate in top-load or full clamshell mode. It also has proper compression straps so it’s easy to open partway and just fold the flap down where the compression straps are. I really like this style of opening except the sides don’t hold their shape very well when fully open, meaning it would be easy to overstuff if you aren’t careful.
Top-load style on the left (partially open), fully open on the right

Pockets

1. (External) Large front pocket with buckle closure
This does not share dimension with the main pocket so is quite spacious. No zipper means the opening is very wide, but also means it's not a suitable place for small objects. Fits my very large Bose QC15 headphone case perfectly or a pair of paddle ball rackets for the beach. Probably a good spot to stash a couple of baguettes as you wander the streets of Paris, but sadly I have no baguettes on hand to test with!
2. (External) Small zippered front pocket with waterproof zipper
I probably won't use this much to avoid making the pack too deep, I can already guess this is where my wallet and phone will go when I'm making my way through security at the airport.
3. (External) Small zippered upper front pocket
Quick access for whatever you might need. I've got a couple epi-pens in there and some mini tools
4. (External) Two external water bottle pockets
Large enough for my largest water bottles or a bottle of champagne (just going to lean into the whole French food/drink theme on this one)
5. (Internal) Small internal zippered pocket on front flap
This is on the front flap, and easy to access at the top even with the bag fully packed. Good place for chargers, cables, batteries etc.
6. (Internal) Large internal zippered mesh pocket
Not easily accessed if the bag is fully packed. Pretty spacious and nicely it doesn't extend all the way to the bottom so things don't all pile on the bottom of the bag.
7. (Internal) Two open-top pockets on the side
These vertically oriented pockets are similar to those in the Mystery Ranch Urban Assault series. They will fit a water bottle, but share space with the external water bottle pockets so you can't fit a bottle in both at the same time (unless they are skinnier than any bottles I have tried).
8. (External) Laptop pocket with waterproof zipper
In the back is a laptop sleeve with slots for two devices, both with false bottoms. There is additional space beyond the two device sleeves, so you could easily add in documents, magazines etc. I was able to fit both my 13\" MacBook Pros in at the same time - hopefully I won't have to travel with both!

Materials

Listed as "Ballistic: 100% recycled nylon". The material passed my “fling some water on it” water resistance test, with the water beading off nicely, but it isn't the nicest feeling material. I’m not quite sure how to describe it aside from the fact that it isn’t luxurious feeling. I don’t think Chase Reeves is going to like it, but I guess that’s for him to decide.
The bottle pockets looked flimsy online, but I’m pleased to say that seem sturdy in person and the top inner edge is reinforced with thicker material. I prefer the style like in the new Aer Pro Pack where the bottle pockets are made of the same material as the pack, but I think these will wear well enough.

Comfort and Fit

I was initially taken aback by the shoulder straps because they felt hard. On second inspection the top of them is rather hard, and the bottom part is lightly padded. I was expecting them to be uncomfortable, but the bag is seems comfortable to wear so far. I haven't put it to the test by wearing it fully loaded for hours, so only time will tell on comfort.
Much attention has been paid to the tight spacing between the shoulder straps on the new Aer Pro Pack. The straps on this one measure exactly 2 inches apart (5 cm). I haven't noticed any pinching so far.
There is a stowable hip belt. Unfortunately when you stow it the lumbar area bulges a little, so I prefer not to stow it. I haven't decided yet, but if I keep the pack I will likely cut it off. To me this qualifies as removable!

A Couple Drawbacks

Unfortunately the bottom of the pack isn’t quite flat, so I was unable to get it to stand upright on its own. It would have been a nice feature, but I don’t think it’s a dealbreaker for me.
There is no key loop in any of the pockets which is kind of a strange omission. It seems like the small external top zipper pocket would have been a natural place to put one.

Packing It

I did a very quick dry-run test pack with the following items with room to spare:
  1. 5 shirts
  2. 5 underwear
  3. 3 pairs of socks
  4. 1 PJ shorts
  5. 1 board shorts
  6. 1 workout shorts
  7. 1 thick long sleeved shirt
  8. 1 pair cargo shorts
  9. 13" MacBook Pro
  10. 63W GaN Charger
  11. USB-C -> USB-C cable
  12. USB-C -> Lightning cable
  13. Clear bag of toiletries

Conclusions

I want to fully love this bag, but I'm not sure yet. I've been searching for so long it's hard not to keep looking. In fact a couple days after I ordered this Aer released their new Pro Pack 24L. That ticks a lot of my boxes, but I've read enough comments on it being uncomfortable that I don't think I'm going to try it out.
We have a trip planned for the first week of April, so will get to test the Dakine out fully soon.

2023.03.21 07:06 247MedicalBilling11 A Detailed Guide On Medical Billing Outsourcing

A Detailed Guide On Medical Billing Outsourcing

A Detailed Guide On Medical Billing Outsourcing
Gone are the days when the organizations used to rely on their in-house employees as the people driving the business’s success, and the same is the story for medical practices. Despite their talent, capability, and skills, they often fall short in managing the time and keeping up-to-date with the frequent changes in the healthcare industry, mainly the medical billing and coding system. Hence, a comprehensive plan for the practice must be put in place to warrant the successful financial growth of the organization. One of the best ways to ensure that efficient and effective medical billing processing is done with the assurance of 100% reimbursement is by outsourcing medical billing and coding.
However, the idea of giving the responsibility by the practices of such an integral part of the healthcare system to an off-shore medical billing and coding company can be pretty daunting. But if you follow this detailed guide on why and how to outsource medical billing properly to a third party, you can definitely ensure the financial health of your practice with other benefits.

Medical Billing Outsourcing – A Percentage Pricing Model

When a medical practice considers outsource medical billing and collection, the percentage pricing model becomes an area of concern.
The core reason behind such concern is that the practice is already dependent on their in-house staff for all the medical billing and collection activities; they often fail to understand the model of ‘success fee’ and its benefits. The other concern that plagues the practice when considering the percentage pricing model is the knowledge of the covered services for medical billing and coding.
Here is a comprehensive guide on the percentage pricing model and services covered.

What Is the Percentage Pricing Model?

The model is also referred to as the ‘success fee’ model because the outsourced company gets a percentage from the successful collection they have made. The collection generally includes a portion from the gross collection of payments received from payers, patients, and self-pay categories.
This model is one of the best in the healthcare industry since the outsourced medical billing company gets paid only for successful collection. Hence the onus is on the outsourced billing and coding company to increase their collection rate for the practice to enjoy better revenue for their business.

Services Covered

Typically the changes between different outsourcing medical billing and coding companies occur from the point of view of the services covered. In most cases, the services that are covered include:
• Revenue cycle management, under which the following services will be processed
  • Demographic entry
  • Coding
  • Charge entry
  • Claims transmission
  • Taking care of transmission rejection
  • Payment posting
  • Denials management
  • AR follow-up
  • Credentialing
  • Insurance benefit verification
  • Patient calling
However, the services can also include an extra fee or within the scope of service:
  • Patient statement charges
  • Software purchase
  • Software set-up
  • Document management
  • EHPMS
  • Contact negotiation with payers
The percentage fee can change since none of these services are set in stone and can be customized as per the practice and the outsourced billing company. As a result, there are no standard rate cards since the pricing percentage also changes based on specialties, software provided, and collection.

Difference between In-House And Outsourced Medical Billing

There are quite a few differences between in-house and outsourced medical billing. The significant difference is the location of the billing. An in-house billing team is part of the medical practice and is a station within the premises. In the case of outsourced medical, the team is located off-shore since most of the work is done electronically and is cloud-based.
Apart from these, there are three other significant differences.
Changing of Focus
In an in-house medical billing, the practice has the ownership and must be responsible for the procedures and the billing process, thus maintaining a focus on the team. On the other hand, outsourced medical billing takes responsibility for the billing and coding process, including the revenue collection. It hence allows the practice’s entire focus on delivering better care to the patients.
Medical Billing Errors
With constant changes in medical billing and coding with the in-house team being overworked, the risk of coding and billing errors is relatively high. It will eventually affect the reimbursement and the revenue cycle. A medical billing facility that has been outsourced has a team of experts who are up-to-date with the changes and can process the billing and coding correctly, thus reducing medical billing errors.
Compliance
When a medical practice hires an admin staff for the in-house billing, they often have qualifications and experience. However, the ever-changing regulations in the coding and billing and the failure to offer regular staff training can lead to compliance failure. Outsourced companies have a dedicated billing section, which provides regular training on the regulatory changes and ensures compliance is maintained.

Why Outsource The Medical Billing?

A successful medical practice can only happen when you offer the best patient care. In addition, it is possible when you have a healthy cash flow. Unfortunately, many medical practices fail to provide the best patient satisfaction because of the failure to have a comprehensive revenue management system. Also, the other factor that impedes success is changes like ICD-10 implementation, the need to upgrade the software and technology, and regular staff training. All of these eventually eat into the revenue of the practice.
📷Why to outsource medical billing?
When you are struggling with your revenue on anyone or on multiple fronts, it is time to consider outsourcing medical billing.
Let’s discuss why it is the best solution for the healthcare providers:
Latest Technology & Software
Most outsourced medical billing makes their name in the market by offering the latest state-of-the-art software and technology. Since most of these constantly get upgrades to suit the changing environment of the healthcare system, the cost involved in buying and upgrading it can be quite a lot. On the other hand, when you outsource the billing system, you can enjoy all these latest technologies much more cost-effectively. This is because most third-party companies charge for the software and the technology for once and then offer their service and up-gradation for a minimal cost, which is way less than installing your software.
Claim Denial Reduction
Often the in-house staff members fail to get regular and adequate training regarding the continuous healthcare billing and compliance updates. However, when you partner with a reputed billing and collection organization, you do not have to worry about training your staff to follow the current standards. Instead, the outsourced organization brings in its pool of well-trained staff, which are up-to-date with the latest technology, software, and billing procedures to ensure no claim denials.
Better Productivity & Profitability
With outsourced partners, medical practices can improve their overall productivity and profitability by ensuring fewer claim denials, proper follow-up on the claims denied and finding the reason for the claim rejection. Well-trained medical billing and collection team in place will warrant that mistakes in claim denials and billing are reduced, thus helping you to get uninterrupted cash flow. It will thereby increase the productivity and the revenue of the healthcare facility.
Continuity of Business
When you have an in-house management team for billing, the chances are there will be one expert in certain areas. In the case of the absence of that employee, the billing is likely to get affected. With a medical billing partner, you have more than one expert in the team to handle a situation, thus ensuring your facility runs all the time appropriately without any interruption.
Integrating with EHR
Any in-house medical billing team will tell you that electronic health records (EHR) are frustrating and nightmarish and a time-consuming process. However, when you outsource the service to a reputed partner, they have experience working with major EHR systems and can integrate easily. You no longer have to worry about the technical issues that often arise on the HER system’s billing side.
Reach the Full Potential
When your medical practice is not getting bogged down with the billing, revenue cycle management, software, and technology complications, you can focus on your patients and other aspects that will help you grow. Moreover, you can quickly eliminate the difficulties, distractions, and interruptions often caused due to the billing and coding system with outsourced partners.
Transparency
There is the misnomer that by outsourcing the medical billing, the healthcare facility, mainly the physicians, is handing over the control of the RCM process to strangers. But when you start working with the partner, you will soon realize the system is structured to give you positive marks on a set of metrics like reducing denial rates, increasing collection rates, and first-pass payments, to name a few.
The process ensures unprecedented transparency in the revenue cycle by providing you with comprehensive reports on the performance. You will also get regular reports on any payment issues or delays, thus allowing you to have a full view of the RCM without micromanaging it.
Satisfied Patients
For any successful medical practice, it is vital to meet the expectation of the patients. However, the focus is bound to shift when your team is multi-tasking and overworked with keeping up everything up-to-date. So, while your staffs manages the scheduling of the patient’s check-in and check-out, handling the clinical records and bookkeeping, by outsourcing, you can help your staff ensure better care for the patients.
At the same time, the outsourced team manages the billing and the coding procedure without any hindrance. You and your staff then are free to cater to patients’ needs, thus increasing their satisfaction and improving patient retention.

How to Select Your Outsourced Medical Billing Partner?

As mentioned above, there are quite a few reasons you should consider outsourcing the medical billing system. But you can only reap the benefits when the provider is equipped enough to warrant your need, irrespective of the size of the practice.
📷
Here are some pointers on how to select the outsourced partner.

How fast will they process the insurance claims once they partner with you?

Generally, a company should be able to begin the service within a couple of months. However, it is not a hard and fast rule since the timeline can change depending on your requirement. For example, if there is a need to overhaul the practice management software and the partner is well-versed with it, the transition should be quick.
But if the practice management is not the same and the data needs to be exported, manually entered, or imported, then the turnaround time can change. Also, a partner will need time to set up the required electronic connection, leading to a longer implementation time.
The best way to ensure you are getting a good deal is by asking for references and the reviews the customers offer.

What services will they provide in medical billing?

The entire revenue cycle management system is a complex process that requires the team to perform a range of essential tasks. Therefore, it is necessary that each task is identified and a clear assignment of the process is done to ensure whether your practice or the parent will be conducting it.

What training does the outsourced staff receive?

There is no point in hiring an outsourced partner who doesn’t provide trained staff. You must confirm that the team looking after your billing is certified and undergo regular training to maintain the certifications.
Now that you know the main three criteria for selecting an outsourcing partner for medical billing, let’s look into why 24/7 Medical Billing Services is the best choice.

2023.03.21 06:51 R-Ramjet Fullscreen not working properly in some Linux programs

This is on a Pixelbook Go M3, with Linux installed in the normal way via the ChromeOS options. I think that means it's Debian(?) Linux.
Most of the "big" Linux applications I've installed handle windowing really well (Visual Studio Code, Libre Office, Gimp etc).
However, two applications don't. They're both emulators for ancient 8-bit computers. One application is Oricutron, the other is Fuse.
They both have full-screen options. But when I set them to full screen, the application UI doesn't resize, it just makes the background surrounding the application go blank, with the application taking up a small amount of the available screen space.
Is this a known issue either with old Linux applications, or Linux under ChromeOS? Any help/workarounds would be greatly appreciated.
The best I've managed to do is first in ChromeOS go to settings>device>displays>display size to change the resolution there, before launching the Linux applications. That at least means they take a bit more screen space up and e.g. their text becomes more readable. But they still don't go full screen.

2023.03.21 06:42 pbjclimbing Capital One Venture X Referral 75,000 Points + $300 Travel Credit

This is the best travel card if you plan on having just one travel credit card in my opinion.
Yes, Capital One Venture X has a rather stiff annual fee of $395, but when you dig a little deeper, the effective annual fee is much lower.
The card comes with a $300 travel credit. You have to redeem the travel credit directly through the Capital One Travel Portal. The issue with the travel portal is that for hotels and car rentals, it is often cheaper to book through other methods. Airfare through the Capital One Travel Portal is almost always the same price as booking through an airline, but a slight negative is that you lose the flexibility of dealing directly with the airline. A workaround to get the full $300 credit is to book a refundable booking for 3+ months out. When the credit posts, cancel the booking. The $300 credit remains and you have reduced your annual fee to $95 without losing any opportunity cost.
On your anniversary date, you get an additional 10,000 points. These can be used directly for a $50 statement credit or cover $100 in purchases that code as travel.
That makes your annual for $45 to -$5 without any opportunity costs or sorcery.
My referral link is https://capital.one/3Y5HqIC that gets you 75,000 Points + $300 Travel Credit

2023.03.21 06:41 ShadowDrifter179 How often do exam materials go on sale?

Trying to decide between Wiley, Becker, and Roger + Ninja.
I can't sit for the exam yet, I'll be able to in August. I plan to take 1 year max on all sections as I want to do it at the same time as I take my Master's, so I am not working full-time in accounting and studying.
I hear that Becker and Wiley are both pretty dry in terms of how material is taught, and there is a lot of just plain textbook reading. Roger is more energetic and lecture focused, which does better for my attention span.
Ninja makes up for the limited MCQ test bank that I heard Roger had.
I am leaning towards Roger + Ninja, but the price is what is getting me.
The problem is I'm looking at prices right now, and I am not looking to really buy until probably around late May, so I can study in June and July.
As of right now, Roger is $1,799 for Elite-Unlimited with their code. I'm not sure how long this discount will last. Wiley is also $1,799 for their Platinum CPA Review Course, with no idea how long it is lasting. Becker is $2,199 for their premium package, with again no idea for how long.
I wasn't looking to buy yet as I can't even sit for the exam, but I'm worried these prices will go back up by the time I actually do want to buy the materials. Which even now, I'm thinking to get Roger + Ninja, but with Roger being $1,800 and Ninja being $67/mo for 12 months, I'm looking at near $2,600 for the entirety of my study material.
Should I just suck it up and buy Roger ASAP, or could there be a sale that will keep a similar or lower price when I can buy it in late May? Is Wiley or Becker possibly a better option? How often does a sale like this occur? Is buying Roger for $1,800 a steal even if I am supplementing Ninja?

2023.03.21 06:36 no_pulp_please_20 i don’t get it

i’m making this post on a alt account because i’m terrified of angering people so ye im 20 years old, female and according to my bmi i am obese. i’ve always been a big person, in childhood up to now, and i’ve always been bullied by other people because of it, to sugar code it.but that’s a little off topic. i started a diet about a month ago and so far i’ve lost 20 pounds. i’ve been exercising maybe 5 or 6 times a week for about 25-30 minutes. which i’m really happy about. i do track my cals and often i eat 490-510 cals a day. im confused and lost because everyone & everything around me online keeps saying that eating 500 cals a day is like, horrifically bad for you and is 100% an indicator of a serious ed. but i don’t get it, because i don’t feel hungry. i feel full after i eat, i had dinner a few hours ago, im not hungry. all i ate today was about 490 cals. im still full, so i don’t understand why people keep telling me i’m starving myself to death and to eat way more when i’m literally NOT HUNGRY 😭

2023.03.21 06:31 heathernim How do I navigate conglomerate bullshit

So I'm a full time teaching assistant at this private international university, which is part of a big conglomerate (some of their subsidiaries include X School, X University, X car, X mart, X resort, X theme park etc). They gave us teaching assistants a "service contract" instead of a labour one. The difference is that on this contract they are not obligated to pay into our national medical insurance or social insurance (social insurance is responsible for paying us women maternity benefits and eventually retirement). Some of my main concerns are:

2023.03.21 06:05 Good_Assistant_4464 😬 I woke up to this

My daughter 6 months, I woke up and saw her on her stomach and she was adjusting her head because she almost had her full face downward against the bed. She sleeps in one of those swaddle sack where I just zip up. It's not tight so she can turn back and forth.
This totally worried me , so what if she doesn't adjust face ? Or at 6 months they know to adjust their face? Totally can go back to sleep now

2023.03.21 06:03 SANSHUINUcrypto I PASSED! HERE’S THE F’N TRUTH

First and and foremost, thank you to the community here. I really appreciate all the tips and insight. It helped quite a bit. Here’s what I did:
Started the Udemy Sabri course in February of 2022. Need to get it under my belt for work. Just a bullshit requirement that they’re putting into place. While I’m sure Sabri is a nice guy, his class was like watching paint dry. Pretty boring. It’s mainly because of the material- so it is what it is. Did only a few hours of the course dragging and then had to step away because of family obligations. Didn’t pick it back up until December of 2022 and was worried because of all of the test switch talk to PMBOK 7. Scrambled a bit to push to get it done before January 1st but then decided I wanted to enjoy my break for the holidays and I’d deal with it after the new year.
Lagged with the course and didn’t start it back up again until late January (started watching it at 1.5x speed to make it bearable) and just completed it 8 days ago. Yes, it took me that long because I was just chipping away at it…a little here, a little there: Scored 54%and 56% on each of the class’s full length prep exams so not good at all. Again, the course material for me was like pulling teeth. Last Monday (7 days ago) I said enough was enough and decided to set a date for the exam for today (total of one week prep post 23 hour course)
Got confidence from what I read on this forum that it wouldn’t be so bad. Purchased the exam through PMI and used the code that you can find here in this forum: GWGCAPMNM. It saved me $125 bucks! From what I read here, thought if I could just commit myself for the week, I could do it and I did. Here’s what I did for the 7 days :
Monday: watched the Vargas PMBOK 6 process. Can’t stress this enough: SHOULD’VE DONE THIS AT THE BEGINNING LIKE MANY HAVE SAID BEFORE ME. AND I’M SAYING TO DO IT BEFORE EVEN STARTING THE 23 HOUR COURSE. It laid everything out and it made all the sense.
Purchased pocket prep (780 question version for PMBOK 6). This is the ONLY tool I used for these 7 days along with a formula sheet of notes that I jotted down while taking the class. IMPORTANT: regardless if you get the question right or wrong on pocketprep, read the explanation either way. THIS IS IMPORTANT. While the 23 hour course was a good base, doing this with pocket prep is where I really learned and began to recognize patterns. I didn’t even reference the class one time for these 7 days.
Tuesday through Friday: about 3 hours of pocket prep each day (only took the quick 10 quizzes over and over again) AGAIN: read each and every explanation. Did not retake tests right away at all.
On Friday I completed all of the 780 questions. Scored 61% overall all on my first shot. Was surprised.
On Saturday I committed myself to learning the following formulas and these only:
CV, SV, CPI, SPI, TCPI, VAC, Number of communication channels, EMV, Standard Deviation, Expected Activity Duration, Triangular Distribution and Total float.
I just wrote these out over and over again and memorized them in one day. It’s not that bad.
On Sunday (yesterday), I retook all of the questions I missed (over three hundred). Kept taking them and rereading until I got them all correct. Not just memorizing but tried to truly understand. Rewatched the Vargas YouTube video one last time and also watched the video of the black girl from the islands with the cool accent talk about the 5 ITTO patterns for the CAPM. That was it.
Took it today online. Pretty straightforward. Had some network issues but the proctor and the IT guys were helpful and reasonable. Wasn’t sure how I did, seemed tougher that I thought it would be but I guess all that repetition paid off. Passed 10/13 Above Target. Focus on the ittos and how things flow. It’s just like a vocabulary test. Get as comfortable as with it. I wrote this out to give you guys hope. Up until a week ago, I half assed it. I’m not the sharpest gal in the world but just committed myself and YOU CAN TOO! People on here helped me so I wanted to pay it forward. Sorry for the long post but if it can help someone then it was worth it. PEACE CAPM PEOPLE. Good luck!
