 | Hi folks! I recently got my CIBI credit report but it doesn't have a credit score (please see the screenshot below). In the reason code, it said that "Information is not recently reported – the latest information on the credit report is out of date". Looking at my report details, most of them are outdated. Specifically, the Addresses, Employment History, and Credit card history are more than 1-2 years old already. Atm, my plan is to report this to my bank (BPI) and file a dispute with CIC. Hello, I have lived in the UK for 2 years and 2 months and I'm seemingly ineligible for credit. I don't want a credit card because I need one for actually making purchases, but because I'm hoping to buy a home in the UK in the next few years and need to build credit.
I've tried the digital-only options, like bip, and I'm ineligible (why that is, of course, I don't know). I've got a full time job with a solid salary, no dependents, no debt, etc., very healthy household finances. It seems like I'm eligible for Virgin Money's Slyce, but this seems just like a BNPL rather than a legit credit card and I'm wary. Maybe there is no material difference, I don't know.
Any advice on why I might be ineligible for a credit card; builder credit cards that might work for folks like me; or other suggestions on how to build credit in the UK would be amazing. I'm so stumped. The research I've done just takes me to keyword-stuffed garbage blog posts from lenders that don't give me any material actions to take.

so i'm a teacher. that was probably my biggest dream since the early childhood but here's the thing. i live in a severely poor 3-rd world country. my monthly salary is about 150 in usd, and there's no joke or something, i actually work 5/2 10 hrs/day for 150$ A MONTH. my rent is literally 500$. i live with my girlfriend, but she's no different from me on that. yesterday i used a credit card to pay for my monthly rent. i am used to not eating for 2 weeks in a row or so but it's the first time when i know that it'd going to be full starving mode for month. i've been a freegan for a while now but still. i have literally no fucking idea what to do anymore.

2023.03.21 08:33 Responsible-Frame-32 I owe a 20k debt since 2013, haven't paid what to do?
I was stupid a long time ago around 2008, I maxed out a line of credit. I stopped paying back in 2013 and I dodged the calls ever since at one exception, btw the lender is RBC. I received multiple final notice letters. 2.5 years ago I discussed with a woman in a collection agency, I wanted to settle for 3k the wanted 20k. They wanted me to give them my bank statements, I didnt want to, so I dodged the calls again. They've stopped calling a year ago. My credit score at equifax is 0 and I have no history, the debt isn't listed. At trans union my credit score is 686 and the debt isn't listed either.
At this point is it even worth it for me to call RBC and try to negotiate a settlement with them? It might reset the clock for the statue of limitations. I'm puzzled with what to do. I want to purchase a house in 2 years, I already have a credit card and working hard on building my credit.
Anybody working at royal bank who can tell me what's the next move for rbc? I'm sure they don't know what to do with my debt either. Or any credit specialist who could advice me?

For those that live in St. Gilles I have a question. It’s just concerning payment and terms. When you sign up and have to pay €15, the signs say you can’t use credit cards for an amount under €25. Do they mean like credit cards or are debit cards lumped into that term? Will I just have to bring cash? Or do they mean to separate the terms and debit card users can pay €15 with the card? I also see the top card merchants X’ed out on signs, but I know it’s because in Belgium, cards like Visa and MasterCard are associated with credit cards here and not debit. However, I do have visa debit cards I could use, so will they even work? I don’t have Bancontact because I don’t really find it worth it to get a Belgian bank account in my situation and the time I’m here.
