2023.05.28 16:20 OFFICIALLYOFFENDED Selling my Tesla because I don’t want a car loan
Well I did it, bought and picked up a Tesla Model 3 on April 17th. Brand new car and it is great, but having a car loan hang over me does not make me feel good. I’ve paid my registration and title fees ($3K) and I’m willing to take the L and sell it at a loss (I wanna say $2K-$3K loss). In total id lose about $5-$6K. I live w my parents and have been able to save up a good chunk so I am not too worried.
Plus, I would go and buy a beater for about $14-$15K. If used car prices keep declining maybe even get one for cheaper. And when I say beater I mean fingers crossed a 2005-2010ish Toyota.
Any tips on selling this brand spanking new Model 3? I’ve already listed it on Craigslist and FB marketplace and have had it up for a week but no offers.

2023.05.28 15:15 davis_g_1995 For those with little kids—PJ Panda is great. I was stuck listening to nursery rhymes with my 18 month old son, but he loves these versions. It’s all clean but better for the adults lol.
| His Baby Shark remix is kind of modern Atlanta trap and the Itsy Bitsy Spider reminds me of Post Malone. I favorite is Johny Johny Yes Papa. It makes car rides a bit better compared to traditional nursery rhymes submitted by davis_g_1995 to rap [link] [comments] |
2023.05.28 14:55 djwildstar First Road Trip in ER Lariat
| My wife and I recently completed our first road trip in the new Lightning ER. The photo is of the truck’s first ever DC fast charge, which happened to be next to a Pro. The trip was from Atlanta GA to Point Pleasant WV, overall about 1200 miles round-trip (and yes, for some crazy reason, our first long trip was to roughly the middle of one of the largest DC fast-charging deserts east of the Mississippi). Overall, I would say that the truck performed well, but there are still issues with long-distance driving in an EV. I used ABRP to plan the trip — the overall route was Atlanta - Chattanooga - Knoxville - Lexington - Point Pleasant, and the reverse to get home. We stayed overnight in Chattanooga, Huntington WV, and Point Pleasant. Level 2 J1772 charging was widely available in Chattanooga — I parked at a ChargePoint in a garage across the street from our hotel, and paid $8 for charging and $7 for parking … compared to the $14 the hotel wanted to charge to park in their lot. I was able to fully recharge from a Tesla destination charger in Huntington using a TeslaTap adapter (the hotel was pretty terrible, but the charging worked). Our hotel in Point Pleasant didn’t have a charger, but kindly offered me a 120V 20A plug, but the Lightning’s inability to accept more than 10A from a Level 1 charger limited the charge I could get (which significantly impacted our drive home). I used Electrify America fast charging at Williamsburg KY, Georgetown KY, Knoxville KY, and Chattanooga TN (in most cases on both the outbound and return legs). There was never a stop where Plug-and-Charge didn’t work, never a stop where I couldn’t charge … but out of 6 charging stops, only two charged at 100kW or more, and only one exceeded 150kW. The truck got between 2.1 and 2.3 miles/kWh on the highway portions of the trip. In general, I drove about 5 MPH over the posted speed limit, so much of the trip was done at 75 MPH. I don’t fully trust FordPass charging or trip logs, because for one segment it reports that I went nearly 150 miles on 0.4kWh, for a whopping 425mi/kWh (see the screenshot above). During the trip I got more comfortable with the guess-o-meter as it burns down range remaining in the battery versus distance to the next stop. During the trip I learned to use the truck’s built-in navigation, and in general like it better than attempting to use ABRP over CarPlay. I wasn’t able to figure out how to completely mute the navigation system’s prompts , but did manage to change them from voice to chimes. In my previous vehicle (a Ford Flex), I was able to completely mute the navigation, which was nice. Issues The biggest issue is charging at the far side of a parking lot in a rural Walmart — in general, we didn’t feel safe, either in the store, in the parking lot, or at surrounding businesses. During this trip, we had two encounters (one at Walmart and one at a nearby restaurant) where customers were actively hostile towards us. In general, the DC fast-charging experience is not as good as a typical chain gas station (RaceTrac, QuickTrip, etc.), and I would really like to see a concept like a DCFC Buck-ee’s proliferate. At a minimum, we should really have covered, pull-through charging locations with trash cans and windshield squeegees adjacent to the chargers. Having restrooms, snacks, and drinks nearby (not all the way across a big box store parking lot) would be a huge plus. To say that FordPass is buggy is an understatement. I work in the computesoftware industry, and I’ve put developers on notice for less. If nothing else, their testing regime and release process needs a revamp. In addition to the buggy trip logs, the charge completion estimates were basically random numbers: it would often project that fast charging would be finished an hour or so before it started, or that Level 2 charging would take 10 to 15 minutes. My wife isn’t the most patient person, so 30-40 minutes spent charging is a half-hour wasted compared to an ICE vehicle. On top of that, I also planned poorly — having heard that Electrify America is unreliable, I’d planned more-frequent stops than strictly necessary. On the return trip I could have skipped at least one, and possibly two charging stops. So overall, the return trip (which was ~600 miles all in one day) was excessively long. She also felt that the seats weren’t as comfortable as the ones in our previous vehicle (the afore-mentioned Ford Flex), and that climbing in and out of the truck is awkward for her (she feels as if she might fall and hurt herself). I’ve asked for recommendations on these issues in a separate post. submitted by djwildstar to F150Lightning [link] [comments] |

2023.05.28 04:25 plausible-rodent My ex has no business advising our daughter about financing a car and I’m so fucking annoyed with him
Dude is not contributing to her car or insurance or gas or anything and his own financial situation is absolute trash.
My cousin, who is like a brother to me, is generously offering to help my 18 year old daughter (who works and goes to school and has saved up $6K) get a nicer, safer more reliable used car than what she could otherwise afford and establish some credit and not blow through her savings by covering down payment and co-signing for a reasonable loan thru his credit union, they prequalified for a $15K loan and are probably actually going to get a used car worth about $12K.
Her father gets wind of it and tries to give her a talk about the interest rate he assumed she’d qualify for and pressure her to buy a car off Facebook or Craigslist for less than $6K. Which if it were the only option, or if she wasn’t getting a lower interest rate thru her uncle, would be one thing. But spending nearly all her savings on a $5K as-is car from a random individual is a crap shoot worth avoiding and it won’t establish her credit!
Dumbass ex doesn’t believe in credit scores (which we are both suffering from) but the rest of the gd world does.

2023.05.28 03:31 MisterSnippy The Transfer
The Transfer
Adrenaline spikes travel through his limbs, dancing across his scales and down his arms, as he takes his first step onto the pristine concrete platform. As the boundary-line grows nearer he breaks out into a cold-sweat, shaking hands, tingling body. Can't get rid of that [Dangersense] whine, which has been blaring since he got to the Waystation a few hours ago. Screaming warnings for something it doesn't even understand. Annoying. After about fifteen minutes of waiting an announcement finally interrupts his thoughts with a jolt.
"Transference to Pallass from Atlanta will begin in five minutes, please ensure you are standing within the boundary line and have all luggage secured."
A few other passengers pass around a nervous look, packing themselves tighter like really eager sardines, trying to ensure minimum risk of injury. Drezill checks religiously to ensure his tail isn't sticking out of the boundary, but he's well within it, still pushing further into the crowd just in case.
"Transference to Pallass from Atlanta will begin in 30 seconds. Please keep all limbs within the boundary line and secure your luggage."
Closer to the Transfer. More adrenaline, faster heartrate. Lub dub, lub dub. Somewhere his heart is pounding, but he no longer feels it, clutching his suitcase tighter, rubbing against his scales. [Dangersense] is screaming at him, and he's compelled to let it scream. Oh, god-
The change is instantaneous. Gone is one Transfer platform, with transparent ad-ridden hologram walls and blue mage-lit lines, replaced with another, almost identical. Probably designed by some evil [Architect] in a stroke of corporate genius to confuse dimwitted passengers into spending more money. It feels like the entire platform heaves a collective sigh of relief as they arrive unscathed, and then he picks up his suitcase and walks out into the Waystation proper.
Lines of people are strewn throughout the terminal, a series of biological walls, giving up one sardine can for another. The species seen are more varied, less Humans, more Drakes and Gnolls. All either Transferred in or Teleported over from all over the world, all stuck here, placed into queues, surrounded by blue and grey walls, lit by dim MLED light. A [Guard] takes out a handheld device and scans his Chip, holding it in place to get an accurate read, and Drezill stands still, waiting in nervous silence, until he hears the mystical mental beep and the guard nods, directing him to a shorter line, the one that says "Incoming Transference".
It surprises him that the first thing he feels is alienation. He was always different, being a Drake, but this is different. The [Guard] sits in front of a metal box that has a small flashing green light, information about his entire life being beamed directly into her brain. Her eyes glint in the dim red light, scanning lines of information he can't see.
"What's your name?"
He can count the number of times he's said his full name on one hand. It builds a feeling of uncomfortability within him, accompanying already high levels of distress.
"Drezill Silverwing Williams."
"Where are you coming from, Mr. Williams?"
"Atlanta, Georgia, The United States of America."
A bead of sweat rolls down his forehead, refracting the light, the green blinking pinpoint reflected inside. He knows he's done nothing wrong, but somehow the woman manages to pull any stress he has to the forefront.
"How long are you planning on staying in Pallass, Mr. Williams?"
"I plan on living here, I have a work-visa."
There's a pause, purposefully planned. They sit in silence for a few seconds, no ambient noise, just the sound of him shuffling in his seat, cringing against the cold metal, tail wavering.
"Purpose of visit?"
As if he didn't already answer her question.
"Work. Living here. I repair pseudo-sapients."
The questioning stops. Fingers twitch, typing something on that invisible interface, then a pause. Door slides open, blinding. No smile.
"Welcome to Pallass, Mr. Williams."
There is no city in his sight, in its place is something else, different than any city he's ever seen. Dotting the horizon are endless lines of buildings and megastructures, surrounding a stone square, like a precious gem surrounded by a jewelry box. The sky is so high here, but still the skyscrapers push upwards, ever reaching hands searching for limit, and finding none. The amount of lights is overwhelming, all sorts of colours spilling out over the landscape below, looking more like stars than the ones that hang in the sky above.
For a moment his breath catches, head involuntarily moving closer to the window, straining to pick out all the details. Far down below is a different world. Similar, yet so different than his own, his own? So different than any other. Millions of people living and working here in a world that 200 years ago hadn't even industrialized.
The magilev cab skitters past a massive glowing purple-scaled Drake that raises a can of Coca-Cola™ to her lips, before taking a dignified sip. She smiles and speaks, the words captured and deposited into his brain via the Chip. "Mmm, you just can't beat the taste of Coca-Cola™! It's as fine as any gemstone found in Salazsar!" Her voice caresses his mind, making his throat feel a bit parched.
"The city sure is something, huh?"
The Gnoll [Driver] speaks and motions a hand at the window, illuminated by passing purple light, startling Drezill into conversation.
"Huh? Oh. I've never seen any city like this, even on Earth. Everything is so... packed together."
The Gnoll grunts ambiguously. "Drakes sure love their cities, no offense. They say Pallass is the most urbanized city in the Worlds, but it's something else to see it."
A pause in the air, contemplative.
"Are you not from here?" Drezill queries.
"Me? No way. I'm from Oteslia. Lived here about 10 years, but I'm planning on moving back some day. Problem is so much more work is here."
The [Driver] doesn't say another word, just shakes his head, and they continue on in silence, broken up only by the sputtering engine and dying rasp of distant advertisements.
His form is dwarfed by the buildings around him, vision denied even a horizon-line, every space covered up by more things. Massive statues sit, watching over sections of the city, stoic. A new one is being constructed, carefully built and placed. Meant to last thousands of years. His Chip wants to speak up, proffering information on the origins of, and identities of, each looming figure. He ignores it.
High above are a few blinking dots, more magilev cars heading to destinations. Beneath his feet a rumble, slithering trains snaking beneath the city to all parts, fast and efficient. He feels out of place, too many Drakes, less Humans. Ironic, but that's just how it is. Drezill hopes he'll get used to it, at least they speak the same language.
Winding streets lead away from the city center, hotels fading away, more sparingly placed now. Like a good Drake, Drezill follows the line. Tracing it through backstreets, around corners, past herds of pedestrians, until the apartment complex appears. And complex is the right word for it. Skills give rise to odd building codes, structures that are safer than they should be, safer than they appear to be. The building seems to lean outwards, lots of concrete, tiny balconies. He sees the top of a few Drake's heads poking above the balconies, lazing about, a few Gnolls enjoying the evening.
The front door opens, and he enters, sneaking through the closing gap left by a departing Human. The lobby is tiny, probably to leave room for more apartments, just staffed by a pseudo-sapient, anyone with a Class and a Skill working somewhere better. He gets on an elevator and rides it up, 14th floor, room 8. It glides up stopping at the 14th floor, doors open with a ding, nobody outside. Drezill steps off furtively, glancing down the hallways, still clutching the suitcase, it rolls conspicuously.
When he closes the door he breathes a sigh of relief. Finally that's over with. He plops the suitcase down and opens it, not a normal suitcase in actuality, but a cleverly disguised suitcase of holding. He heaves and pulls out a body, a Drake looking very much like himself, the spitting image, in fact. It looks real, and with a few Skills, it will become real. He takes a second to unpack everything else, before copying his relevant Chip data and inserting it into the pseudo-sapient. With any luck it will last a few months, and a few months is all he needs. After a moment, he leaves the room and rides the elevator down, passing by identical floors and identical rooms.
Ding. Once again in the quiet lobby, soon replaced by bustling crowds, magilev cars, and rumbling trains. A few Drakes and Gnolls grab kebabs from a stall sitting on the side of the street, laughing and eating, timeless. Everywhere he looks are buildings and people. Drezill picks a direction, then calls a cab and gets on. The [Driver] doesn't even look up, just asks:
"Where to?"
The door slides shut, cab hovering in place, for a moment cut off from the outside world, as if separated by time and not just place.
"To Liscor, please."

2023.05.28 02:07 Thatonelady24 How to help bf with his housing situation? 27f 27m 5 mo the
My boyfriend and I have been dating about 5 months and have known each other 7. He’s currently renting a room with his brother, so they each pay about $550 for the room totaling $1100. His brother let him know he will be moving out in June on the exact date the rent is due and expects my bf to cover the full amount of rent. My bf has been looking for a job, but so far no luck and he had just been doing doordash in his brother’s car to make some money. Bf is convinced he won’t be able to make enough money in the just about 2 weeks he has to make rent. I’ve offered solutions like calling his family back home (he moved to my state last year) to see if he can move in with them, he refuses says they have their own problems etc. I asked him to explain to his brother he will basically be screwing him and cause him to have no place to as a result, he says his brother has often problems to take care of. I’ve sent him Facebook market place rentals, work exchange programs (which there are very few of in our area), couch surfing website options, Craigslist posts for housing/work exchange and all the other options I can think of. He either doesn’t acknowledge the information I send him, or isn’t interested in talking about his situation and finding a solution. I feel like I care more about his situation than him, and it’s upsets me, and I’m not really sure what to do, or how to help at this point.
TL:DR Bf is a few weeks away from likely being kicked out of the room he’s renting for being unable to pay the rent. I’ve suggested plenty of solutions he either doesn’t seem interested in, doesn’t acknowledge, and I doubt he’s following up with. I’m frustrated with the situation and don’t know what more I can do at this point, if anything.

2023.05.27 23:52 ACG_Yuri WWYD?
I’ve been struggling with my decision and I feel like I’m the last person to decide. I would like to return to the South Atlantic after graduation (Ex: Jacksonville, Tampa Bay, Atlanta, Charlotte, Charleston). I’m open to practice law in any field. Some that specifically interest me before I begin include cyber, telecommunications, sports/labor, M&A and food & drink/franchising but I am open to changing my mind.
I toured CWRU recently and I really enjoyed it. I saw Mercer back in January and I also liked it. Mercer is hosting another event in a few weeks so i think a refresher may be necessary.
I know Case is the better school, but the COA is going to be more than double Mercer. I would probably have to ship my car to Cleveland and take connecting flights to get home, while Mercer is close enough to drive my car to and from my home. As for housing, I’m looking for 1B apartments within a 5-10 minute walking distance of both schools and Mercer is cheaper. I also really wonder if I would enjoy spending 3 years in Macon vs Cleveland despite being around 90 minutes from Atlanta. I have a friend group in NE Ohio but I do expect to make plenty of law school friends in Cleveland or Macon.
Included in the poll would be the tuition cost after my scholarship. Thanks!

2023.05.27 23:01 MassholeV8 Hidden gem used cars - I know all about the gm3800, honda/mazda/toyota, panther platform and focus recommendations. What other great cars are hiding out there?
Some of you have probably seen me on this sub hunting Craigslist for people searching for used cars under $10k.
My top recommendations are always gm3800 cars (Buick Lesabre, Pontiac Bonneville, so on), 2008-11 Ford Focus (which I own), Toyotas minus 07-09 Camry, Hondas, Mazdas, things like the Pontiac Vibe (Toyota Matrix), Panther platform like Marquis and Town Car, and Mercury/Lincoln cars that double as fancier Ford cars like the Milan.
Did Chevy make any great sedans in the last 20 years? Did Hyundai/Kia have any cars that don't blow up? Maybe discontinued brands like Plymouth or Oldsmobile that haven't found their way into the junkyard? What are some forgotten cars that go 200-300k?
Criteria: possible sub $10k Craigslist find

2023.05.27 21:13 sympataethic Getting a 2011 BMW X5 35D, Need Some Guidance
For reference, I’m F20 and not very knowledgeable about cars.
Today, my dad is getting a 2011 BMW X5 35d with a mileage of 104k for me (he bought it from Craigslist and is picking it up). However, last night, my current car (a 2003 BMW 5 Series with a mileage of 127k) started leaking coolant, which has made me realize the importance of being more aware of potential car problems.
I wanted to ask for any specific advice or things I should keep in mind for this particular model. Are there any common issues or known problems that I should be aware of? I’d like to be proactive and avoid any unexpected breakdowns or costly repairs.
While my dad is a self-learned mechanic, I’d like to get insight from other people and am interested in getting an annual car check-up from actual trained professionals. My family’s cars (all BMWs or Volvos because my dad’s a fan of them) have broken down on us several times in the past and I’d like to avoid that as much as possible with the 2011 model.
Any input or guidance would be greatly appreciated! I’d like to take good care of my new car and avoid the pitfalls that my family’s cars have experienced in the past

2023.05.27 19:39 Unfair_Bluejay7030 Looking at a C4
So I’m a high schooler, have a decent job, looking for a car. I want to buy a fast car and I found a C4 corvette project car for 6,500$ on Craigslist. It has some problems but the weather stripping, wheels, a/c, and wiring are in good shape. Problems include: bogging down when taking off, paint needs to be filled. My family has other cars to drive while I work on the C4 but it would be a learning curve as I’ve never worked on a car before.
Should I buy it? And more importantly what should I do when I go to see it? Test drive and then bring to a mechanic?

soon as i finished a trip im kicked offline and messaged about alleged marijuana smell. this is the second time I’ve been deactivated for this reason and i dont even fucking smoke in my car. I live in atlanta, literally every passenger who gets in my car smells like weed. I dont know what they expect but i cant help it. All i can do is roll down the windows and spray stuff to make it smell fresh. Doesn’t guarantee that the smell will be gone completely by the time i pick up my next passenger but at least the smell won’t be as strong.
Anyways after this is resolved im done with rideshare completely. Too many false ratings and reports against me and I do my best to give people great experiences. These people dont care about us nor does uber support. Im more than sure they wont compensate me for this. They just act like they care in reality they dont.

2023.05.27 14:07 13ulldogg 25 years old with 25k in savings
Seeking advice in where to invest, place, or save money. 25, single, live alone, have a steady source of income. Not the best with finances but how I see it either I could save up for a down payment on an apartment or a house, put the money into the market in either aggressive or passive avenues, or invest in personnel mid range items(cars, dirt bikes, guitars, other items I have knowledge about) and flip them. Leaning towards saving up for a down payment, it gives me the best chance of financial security in the future. Most fun would be flipping items, being able to get my hands on abunch of fun toys but would require the most work( meet ups, Craigslist and marketplace sifting, fixing said items) Was broke all through college and it’s the first time in my life I’ve been in a situation where I have financial security at all, especially at this level (understand for a lot of people 25k isn’t a lot but never thought I’d be here) I’m sure there are other options that my tiny brain can’t wrap around or even think of, so how would you use it right now to set yourself up for the future(10-15 years not looking for any quick return over shorten time BS). Thanks
TLDR : 25k liquid, best option to set myself up in the future.

2023.05.27 07:29 christinadental Severe PVCs on a flight + extreme anxiety
I get extreme flight anxiety. I am on a plane right now and have 3 hours left with SEVERE PVCs (bigeminy). Looking for encouragement or advice. I bring so many things with me to try and have a comfortable flight. A handheld fan bc I am very sensitive to temperature, Pepto bismol chews for stomach upset, ginger lemon hard candies for nausea, etc. I have a Xanax prescription with me but on the flight to the original destination (I’m on a return now) I got EXTREMELY nauseous after taking it and couldn’t walk. Idk if it was the Xanax or a coincidence, but I don’t wanna risk it. I also brought acebutolol with me, but the last time I took it I got very very low blood pressure and could not stand as well. I have a connection in Atlanta (flight from Cali) and I am heavily debating renting a car and driving back to CT because the thought of going through this on the second flight which is another 3 hr makes me want to cry. I can’t take this anymore

I bought a car last month (1999 4 Runner) from Craigslist (private seller). It turns out to have a totally rusted chassis and is not safe for the road. No New York State inspector will pass this vehicle and is unrepairable.
He listed it in EXCELLENT condition, SOLID FRAME. I chose not to have it inspected and bought it after test drive.
The bill of sale reads “as is”, which I signed. BUT- he fraudulently sold and signed the bill of sale with the previous owner’s information instead of his own name. Shouldn’t this warrant the bill of sale invalid?
He has blocked my number and won’t respond.
Is there any advice on how to get my money back or return the car to him?

2023.05.27 03:22 UncommercializedKat Why I think my city is a great option for PovertyFIRE. (US)
I've been pursuing FIRE for the last few years. I've read the books, listened to the podcasts, etc.
At the time I discovered FIRE, I was living in Austin, Texas where over 1/3 of my income went to housing. I left Austin and moved to Pensacola, Florida. After living here for 2 years, I really enjoy the city and want to make a case for Pensacola to other FIRE people.
Just to get it out of the way at the beginning, I know there's been a lot of bad press regarding Florida and politics. There are plenty of people here from all sides of the political spectrum. There are gay bars in Pensacola and the annual pride festival is happening this weekend at Pensacola Beach. I would suggest that Florida isn't as bad as the media wants you to believe and to be open-minded. If there's something that's an absolute deal-breaker for you, no worries. For the rest who are curious as to what this guy is on about, keep reading.
Amenities Pensacola has a plethora of city amenities for its size thanks to the tourists. There are great shops, restaurants, and bars. We have 10 breweries. There's a shopping mall and an airport. Even on a PovertyFIRE budget, some people may still choose to have the occasional night out. There’s art festivals and parades. Concerts, museums, live music, 5k races, and minor league sports. And of course the beach. Pensacola beach is absolutely beautiful with white sand and emerald green water. Going to the beach is nearly free and is a great place to read a book or get some exercise. As a bonus, you can fish and catch dinner while you're there.
Housing Housing is very affordable in Pensacola. I've seen livable fixer-uppers sell for under 100k and remodeled homes for 150-200k in non-dangerous neighborhoods. I would highly recommend someone considering PovertyFIRE to own theie owns house and learn to be handy to drastically cut down housing costs. Occasionally, cash only houses come up for as low as 50k in trending neighborhoods.
Taxes Florida doesn't have a state income tax. Property taxes are cheap. (Mine were less than $500 last year)
Insurance With Obamacare subsidies available federally, health insurance is the same as anywhere else. Homeowners insurance is high because of hurricanes but it's less than $200 a month for my house.
Economy Florida has a growing economy and Pensacola is one of the last places that's still affordable. It won't last long though. They're building $400k-$800k new construction homes all over downtown.
Minimum wage The minimum wage in Florida is $12/hr and is set to go up $1 every year until it hits $15. In a few years, two people making minimum wage wil be able to earn $60,000/yr. This would be great for a BaristaFIRE person. With all the tourists here it's easy to earn good money working part-time in the service industry pouring drinks or waiting tables.
Traffic/commuting There is almost no traffic here compared to cities like Austin, Dallas, Atlanta, etc. The city is so compact you can drive from one side to the other in 15-20 minutes. Because of this, I purchased a used Nissan Leaf for $2,000 that has more than enough range to get me any where in the city. It costs about 3.5 cents per mile for electricity vs. 12.5 cents per mile I was spending in gas in my 4 cylinder economy car. Motorcycles/scooters are a other affordable option as are ebikes and plain old bicycles. There's also public transit and UbeLyft.
My situation: I paid less than 75k for my house and own it outright. Property taxes, insurance, and utilities add up to about $350 per month. I have a $2,000 car that will last for several years with almost no maintenance and very little fuel costs. I can walk to a grocery store, Walmart, and numerous other places.
If money got tight once I retired, I could go carless and walk to any one of several stores and get a job for $15+ an hour.
I knew it's possible to live a PovertyFIRE lifestyle because my neighbor has been living off such a budget for several years.
Not only do I love it here, but it's accelerated my FIRE date by leaps.
I'm happy to answer any questions. Respectful criticism is okay but this isn't the place for overly rude or unhelpful comments.
If anyone wants to visit or ends up moving here, feel free to reach out to me and I'll be happy to show you around. 😃

2023.05.27 03:20 praguer56 Road trip with little to no EV infrastructure
We're going from Atlanta to Dahlonega GA tomorrow with neighbors. Four adults on a 2 hour drive there and 2 hours back. We'll be charged to 100% but I'm not sure about the range. Looking at the map now it looks fine but that's not accounting for 4 adults in the car. Is there any way to calculate real range? Or just wing it?
Btw, there is one CCS EVGo station along the way so we could use that if it looks bad on the way home.
